Mitt Romney tops weak Barack Obama in New Hampshire, poll shows
By ALEXANDER BURNS | 4/22/11 6:37 AM EDT Updated: 4/22/11 9:46 AM EDT

Mitt Romney is the only Republican candidate leading President Obama in New Hampshire, according to a new poll from Dartmouth College's Nelson A. Rockefeller Center.

In the center’s fourth “State of the State” survey, Romney tops Obama in a general election match-up by 8 points, 47 percent to 39 percent.

No other Republican comes close to that mark: Obama leads Mike Huckabee by 8 points, Tim Pawlenty by 16, Haley Barbour by 19, Donald Trump by 22 and Sarah Palin by a yawning 27-point margin.

Romney’s stronger performance comes from his appeal to independent and undeclared voters, who make up a hugely influential bloc in New Hampshire’s primary and general elections.

Among voters unaffiliated with either party, Romney beats Obama, 44 percent to 36 percent. He is the only active Republican contender tested in the poll who beats Obama with those key voters.

New Hampshire is not a "blue" state. It's a swing state with a strong independent streak.

Romney obviously has an advantage as a former New England governor who claimed to have his official residence in NH (not sure if he still does).

Yes, a funeral for America, since Barack Obama's re-election is pretty much guaranteed if any of the current crop of neoclowns win the GOP nomination.

LOL not only do you deny that Obama won NH in '08, but you, and the other delusional Jackass Partyer seem to be in frantic denial of the obvious implications on this poll. I would expect this from you, given your past LOL claims, same from that other guy, long since on my iggy for trolly idiocy.

Next? Preferably someone else who lives on Earth.........

I want to see Romney argue for repealing "Obamacare."
As a Democrat, I take solace in the fact that the Republicans have nominated the guy who lost the nomination to the guy who lost the presidency to the guy who is now the President.

Obama won NH in '08. He also won Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana, Colorado, Nevada, Florida, and Ohio. If you want to consider those all "blue states" then the GOP might as well throw up the white flag for 2012.

Lol...that's true. How can he win the nomination while pandering to people who are seething that it was passed and want it gone at all costs? Then watch them all hold their nose because he passed "Romneycar"...i don't see that working out so well.
He will already be politically dead by the time the Republican National Funeral takes place.

They already have..the flag's name is Donald Trump.
Now all we have to do is watch him pick someone like Ann Coulter as his VP pick then watch the circus.
