My opinion of the modern day Police Officer is once again validated. The stance taken on the network and cable news is Astounding to me. The issue here is not just that this idiot is obviously a racist prick, but I believe it goes much deeper. WHy are we accepting how these assholes SPEAK to us the way they do..? I take more of an issue with his use of "FUCKING" black more than the use of just Black. Since when are police officers ALLOWED to curse at people who get pulled over..? If somebody speeds, they are now treated like some scumbag convict. 2 years ago I was thrown down to the ground and arrested because a cop told my wife to shut the fuck up. Yet, I WAS ARRESTED...?

An officers primary job is to diffuse the situation not create drama in hopes of an arrest for forcing citizens into a corner.

This is a growing problem in this country and nobody is taking notice. Every news report I watched on this story focused on the racist comment all ignoring and CONDONING the language the officer used at the citizen. Police officers are nobody to be respected these days and while I do not stand for it, I am quickly becoming the outcast. I know I will be arrested again one day because I refuse to allow anybody to speak to my family in this manner badge or not. But Nobody is saying anything about the growing divide between Police and the citizens fueled by local judges and their rings of Corruption..? Why..?

Do you have any idea how many police officers are employed in the United States?

Neither did I. So I looked it up ... it's about 800,000. Even if five thousand of them are racist scum, that still amounts to about half of one percent. Why should I condemn our nation's police based on the deeds of such a small percentage?

The problem isn't "growing." The internet simply makes it far easier for you to find such anecdotes.

my Momma taught me to always respect the policeman. Until she tells me different that is the position I will take. That does not mean you cannot make individual determinations in specific situations.

Exactly! I was raised to respect our police officers, firemen, our military. You will never hear me disparage any of them.

Buy me three beer and start me talking.... I could write a freakin book.

Just to toss it out there though. He said "When people ask me why i pull them over I say it's because they're fucking black"

Is there a chance he's talking about the windows? The reason for the pullover was the tinted windows. And the driver wasn't black.

I differ... I will gladly disparage individual officers (or soldiers, etc.) based on their individual actions. As with any profession, there are police officers who are right bastards, and have no business wearing a police uniform. But police, as a whole, do not deserve to be judged en masse based on such a select minority.

It's amazing in some cases how an otherwise normal, intelligent person can put on a uniform and magically become a moron.

But it's also a fact that the average person has aboslutely no idea what police deal with day to day. There's only so many times you can be lied to to your face before you just take it for granted and assume that everyone's a liar.

A friend of mine was a hostage negotiator in NC. He was telling a story once about having to talk down a man who was holding an office of people hostage and how he told the guy to go ahead and shoot himself. I was a bit shocked and made the comment that if I was ever in that situation he would be the last one I would want to negotiate my freedom lol. Anyway, whatever he said worked and everyone was released unharmed. He has told so many stories about folks lieing and etc. It's easy to see where a cop can become jaded. But that doesn't change the fact that I will always support them.

I don't care that he was racist, he got nailed and I assume he will be dealt with, especially since the public finally caught a glimse of how police act these days. What I Do care about is the manner in which officers speak to the public.

I am not calling out every police officer people, because that's assinine to do with any group. There are good eggs and there are bad. The attitude and spirit in which we allow the authorities to deal with the public is a matter of our Liberty. If I break the speed limit, then I deserve a ticket. But I also deserve and am entitled to know why I was pulled over, not when the officer "Feels" like it (That is part of the problem, Arrogance/pride/promotion of Self) immediatley once order has been established.

You can all pull out your Patriot hats and rock out Sean Hannitty style if you wish, but I prefer to keep it real and not play PC along with the crowd. The "Growing" problem is the arrogance and then local court Backing the officers today display and then receive. It is the recipe for disaster if it continues over time, whether you all agree or not..

The Gestapo may have been created overnight, but the "mindset" was not..
