I'd say he certainly deserves the award.

I don't think I'd go Nobel Peace Prize, but I'd consider Time's Man of the Year.

I wasn't all that impressed with Assange personally after seeing his interview on 60 Minutes last Sunday. While I love the concept of "muckraking", and think we don't see enough of that in the US that isn't done out of political opportunism from the opposition...Assange appeared to lack conviction to me. I think I wanted to see a fired up radical who had some sort of purpose in mind for exposing all the stuff he does, but he just kind of seemed like he was interested in doing what he did because he could.

I think you're right on target with this. Assange is certainly not some noble crusader out to improve the world. I don't think he has the slightest chance of winning because it has never been demonstrated that his initiative actually benefitted people. Originally Posted by Goldwater
