Has any other movement done so much to screw up our lives as the womans liberation movement?

Don't get me wrong, I think if a woman wants to work she should be able to do any job she wants and get the pay her ability commands, but something went terribly horribly wrong here. Used to be that the man earned the money while the woman took care of the home, both of these roles is equally important and they both take hard work and sacrifice.

Dinner was home cooked, families ate together, kids grew up healthy and the family unit was tight.

Now, both men and women have to work to make the same living as before, now we need day care and micro-meals, kids are fat and have ADD, the TV is the baby sitter, an alarming number of unions end in divorce, and why wouldn't they? Men and women both have to put in 40+ a week, still have to feed the kids and clean the house and do the laundry and run erands.

Womans liberation was the end of a good thing.

I know you're being sarcastic, but my friend actually blames women's lib for forcing her to get a job. There are a lot of girls out there that just want to get their MRS degree and pop out the kids and care for their man (like 99.9% of my friends....) Unfortunately, to raise those kids the wife usually needs to work too.

Personally I think women's lib fucked with mother nature's plan.

I'm not being sarcastic, I honestly blame not so much the movement but the result for most of our problems. Today I'll get home from the office about 7:45, have to do some cleaning and get the kids ready for bed, get some food, clean up after eating, try to find some time for myself, prepare for tomorrow, and still want to have sex with the lady? I think every house hold would be far better off to have one earner and one stay at home, whether it's the man or the woman makes no difference to me.

I have an opinon to share, but if I did my dear departed Mum would come back and haunt me, then my Sister would beat me up , and my girlfriend would stop putting out. Sorry Sparta, you're on your own.

Dude I understand completely. I find that on issues such as these our opinions are heavily influenced by the opinions of our ladies, no shame in that game.

Well let me give you the down side to that arguement.

I worked two full time jobs and bartended at night to put my ex through college. He quit (without telling me) with one semester left. So, I tossed out some resumes to Charlotte and was hired as an office gal with a furniture company. Within a few months I was an assistant finance mgr and then was the manager. Got pregnant with my son, was planning on going back to work after giving birth but the mom-bug hit and we decided that he could make enough money so that I could stay home. I had six months worth of expenses in the bank, just in case he couldn't. But he did.

All he had to do was work while I took care of the kid and eventually kids. I cleaned house, laundry, did the shopping, ran all of his errands, supported his weeknd warrior sports and his band hobby and was room mom and team mom. I also helped him build his career to the point that he was running the company as well. All the while maintaining an active sex life. Worked out really well for 16 years. Then, he left. Then he stopped paying his child support and alimony. He makes just under a mill a year, it's not like he can't afford it. But after being out of the workforce for so many years, I suddenly wasn't qualified for anything.

Do I regret being a stay at home mom? No, I loved every minute of it. But the reality is that if a woman stays home and does the family thing for a long period of time, she's behind the eight ball and it's hard to get out of that situation. That is why I am back in school.

Well his pay should be attatched, shouldn't it? With a one income house, alimoney needs to be part of the deal, and I don't mean in theory, it needs to be something that can be applied and collected, there's no way around that.

Yeah, it should be. But he never shows up for court and the judge in NC said "yes he owes you this money but we have no way of knowing if he can pay". My money ran out and so did my high dollar attorney. Now, I have two female pitbull attorneys and a new judge who refuses to play the ex's games. We go back to court in May and the judge is setting the dates for financial disclosures and whatnot. He's been filing motions to dismiss on bogus grounds and the judge keeps tossing them. I'm hoping this will all be over by the end of the year, and I will have the $$ in hand.

My wife hasn't worked since she got pregnant. Not a day. She wanted to stay at home and look after the monkey. I figured hat it made 0 sense for her to go out and earn 1200 a month so we can pay 1100 a month in child-care and spend all our time running him back and forth to the babysitter.

We only have one car, we live in a tiny apartment, we don't buy DVD's or CD's, eating out means Burger King on Whopper Wednesdays - but our quality of life is so much better with less money and more "mom".

I'd say if the woman disagrees with you and really wants to work - you're fucked. If she agrees with you and you're both spinning wheels then I'd say consider having her stay home. Of my 3 closests freinds with kids - all 3 of them have stay at home wives who had jobs before having kids but stopped working to be mom.

Of course they're all Baptist as well.. that might skew the data.

But, I can almost promise: both working, neither working, you working or her working... the sex/blowjobs aren't going to be any more frequent. Those days are gone. You're married.

I hear that when they hit 50 they get the urge back. And that's when we become Mr Roper... sneaking around trying to avoid the Mrs when she's in 'heat'.
