Thread: Troop Withdrawal Afghanistan

It is now only some 9 months till Obama's own deadline of troop withdrawal in Afghanistan. The Surge of troops that Obama ordered began almost a year ago now. Hard to believe it has been that long. He owns this war now. It is his baby. He expanded it with an additional 30,000 troops. Who here believes he will remove the troops this Summer?

"As commander-in-chief, I have determined that it is in our vital national interest to send an additional 30 000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan. After 18 months, our troops will begin to come home."

Also bear in mind that previous to this surge he had ordered some 22,000 additional troops to Afghanistan. So in total he has sent an addtional 52,000 troops to what is now his war, in Afghanistan. He owns it.

You people will never see the light, no matter how bright it gets. It is simply amazing, me thinks fluoride is a good tool. We will be in Iraq and Afghanistan until their declared states, or at least until we create a Wal-Mart economy with a central banking system, all for the banks and corporations that own this country. OK I just looked that word up in the dictionary. So you are implying that only I see Obama as escalating the War in Afghanistan and thereby owning it? What will you think come Summer if Obama does not start moving troops out of Afghanistan?

Karzai says US should reduce operations' intensity

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) - Afghan President Hamid Karzai said the United States must reduce the visibility and intensity of its military operations, especially night raids that fuel anti-American sentiment and could embolden Taliban insurgents.....

"The time has come to reduce military operations," Karzai said in the interview. "The time has come to reduce the presence of, you know, boots in Afghanistan ... to reduce the intrusiveness into the daily Afghan life."
