Congressional Black Caucus says it will welcome new black Republicans

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) said this week it will welcome a pair of newly elected black Republicans if they wish to join.

"Membership in the Congressional Black Caucus has never been restricted to Democrats," the group said in an unattributed email to its members. "Should either of the two African-American Republicans recently elected to the House of Representatives request membership in the Congressional Black Caucus they will be welcomed."

The decision was reached after a unanimous vote by the CBC's executive committee, said Rep. Emanual Cleaver (D-Mo.), a member of that panel.

The CBC, Cleaver said in an interview Tuesday, "doesn't want to come across as exclusionary."

They had to vote on it? Whether he was black enough or something?

No, "we" are being told it's still an issue. That freaks out "some" white people.

Actually in this case it's more relevant to say "some on the Right". It sure cant be
too many if Republicans can come out with enough votes to win elections for their
    black candidates.

The RNC denies any organized effort to recruit black candidates for congress. But there was an organized effort by the National Black Republican Association to run more black GOP candidates the year...nothing racist about that. Tim Scott of South Carolina, and Allen West of Florida are the two token house Republican black guys now, or after January that is. There is big money in being an anti Obama African American these days. They'll no doubt be getting some Fox News gigs before the election is over, and they'll fit in just fine in the GOP, and the house.

You are overthinking the whole congressional black caucus raising eyebrows at these two new black R's in the house. It's not like this happens all the time, there was one elected in 2003. But nothing before that ever as far as I know.

    That's just fucking racist.

The GOP said they didn't recruit black candidates, as well they shouldn't, that would be
    profiling and racial politics.

How many times have we gone over the difference between racism, bigotry, segregation, and discrimination?...and you still use the word improperly.

The statement... "GOP finally has two token black congresspeople"... does not contain any assertion that one race is superior to another.

    Therefore...it's not fucking racist.

    You are hypersensitive.

"Token black" is a racist characterization outside any context making it necessary.

How is it impying that either blacks or whites are superior racially to one another?
