If We were the President what would our next move be to improve our economy

If We Were The President Of the USA What Would our next move be to improve the economy ?

Lets say Obama came to Politcal Hotwire and said he wanted some ideas on how to make our economy better and he was willing to listen to imput from us. Try to be serious with this and don't show preference to Democrat or Republican. I know thats hard, but since we have a majority in the House, Obama will need to work with Republicans to get the economy working again.

First and foremost - STOP THE FUCKING SPENDING.

    STOP!! STOOOOOOOOOP!!!!

    Second, extend the tax cuts.

Third, get out of bed with the unions.

    Fourth, power-fuck Jessica Alba.

Hey, might as well since I'm dreaming.
If anything I say offends you, it's because you're an idiot

I agree , stop the excessive spending and extend the tax cuts. It may seem petty, but cut back on excessive cost in traveling by all Government employees. We need an example set by this adminstration. We are borrowing money to sustain our current economy. That will not be sustainable forever. Here is a copy from Wikopedia on US Budget
    Budget for 2010

The President's budget for 2010 totals $3.55 trillion. Percentages in parentheses indicate percentage change compared to 2009. This budget request is broken down by the following expenditures:
    • Mandatory spending: $2.184 trillion (+15.6%)
      • $677.95 billion (+4.9%) – Social Security
      • $571 billion (−15.2%) – Other mandatory programs
      • $453 billion (+6.6%) – Medicare
      • $290 billion (+12.0%) – Medicaid
      • $164 billion (+18.0%) – Interest on National Debt
      • $11 billion (+275%) – Potential disaster costs
      • $0 billion (−100%) – Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP)
      • $0 billion (−100%) – Financial stabilization efforts

US receipt and expenditure estimates for fiscal year 2010 (in billions, not trillions).

I wonder what the 105 Billion for Other is for. I would check that out. Could be Obamas vacations and trips to India budget

Here you are Americans. Your looking at the Budget for the USA. Its your tax money that is being spent on these programs. Do you have a problem with any excessive spending in this budget, or is it o.k. with you to keep spending till we are broke? Or maybe we are broke and we will be borrowing money from China to sustain this budget. I'll bet the other on this budget is the interest.

Why are Medicare and Medicaid listed as "mandatory?" Why should socialized medicine be considered "mandatory?"

I would suggest dismantling the Dept of Education and Homeland Security, also the US Marshal's Office. Also I would demand that All of Congress and Government jobs be given a pay-freeze. That Congress specifically drop to 2000 levels of pay, reminding them it is Service to Country.

Also I would roll back the Tarp and what has been returned.

I would Inform the President that we need to change the way we build in order to reduce the amount of damage we take from natural Disasters. Althought that figure for Disasters doesn't seem correct.....even tho states suffer more of the cost.
    Hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and fire.

Also I would talk about reducing the State Dept and funding for other International Interests. I would bring home troops from Europe, Japan, and Korea, and look to strategic planning of New bases that allow us to protect the Interests of this Country and the Sovereignty of The Country. I would tell him to get rid of Special Envoys and paying out saleries for work that our Ambassadors can do as well as the SOS. That foreign countries that want the President to visit their country, that they pick up that cost.

That all politicians can no longer endorse other politicians other than those in their own States. No more running around the Country and campaigning and spending money in every state they go to. The Exception is former politicans that hold no office, and the party or their own dime pays for the traveling expense. They need to be working and solving problems in this country.

That he pass an Interstae Hwy Act for Infratstructure on a National Scale. For Roads and bridges. High Speed rail for the areas of the country that need it and a complete reformatting of the power grid for the country. The devlopment of underground monorail systems for the movement of freight. Total restructure of the Rail Road Industry and the remanufacturing of Trains and Locomotives. That any spending....needs to be done here. that some of these infrastructure jobs would last over a decade. Thus creating jobs for a short term range of time from 10-20 years.

Such would be my recommendations to Start with.....

do you realize that if nancy had taken the 862 million dollars she used for stimulus and set up a lottery for US workers who were over the age of 55 with the following stipulations

    1) winner would receive 1 million tax free
    2) winner must either use part of the money to buy a house, pay off a mortgage, buy a US made car
    3) retire within 90 days of notification and sign a contract stating they would not reenter the work force for at least 7 years
    4) applicants must be US Citizen, had taxable income for 20 years prior, and never had a single year where they had more than 150,000 in taxable income.

862, 000 jobs would have been created before June of 2009, and that is not counting the benefits from houses bought, cars sold, and mortgages paid off

I believe it is time for the government to come clean. There are times when things are so broken that you can't fix it, and we are there with the economy. The question is, what do you want the collapse to look like, I know what it is going to look like at the route we're on, and extreme inflation with zero jobs is going to fucking kill people.

The article says it is estimated that maybe as many as 700 are living under the streets. Not that that has anything to do with anything.
