PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Rhode Island gubernatorial candidate Frank Caprio, in a radio interview Monday morning, reacted angrily to President Obama's decision not to endorse him during a visit to the Ocean State Monday.

"He can take his endorsement and really shove it as far as I'm concerned," Caprio told talk-show host John DePetro during an interview on WPRO-AM.

I predict that was a short-sighted, wrong-headed gambit by Caprio to court the CURRENT let's-elect-inexperienced-nutjobs mood that will fade as soon as a few nutjobs win and demonstrate their inexperience. Next time Caprio runs, Obama may be the next Bill Clinton.

A new poll shows that Caprio has plummeted twelve points since the same poll showed him leading the race on October 12. Thirty-six percent of respondents said Caprio's "shove it" remark made them less likely to vote for him, versus only 7 percent who said they're more likely to vote for him.
