Tea party linking up with Koran-burning British far right

The tea party movement is forging links with the English Defence League, a nascent anti-Islamic movement in Great Britain that has made a habit of rioting in Muslim neighborhoods, says a report at the Observer.
The news comes a day after the EDL clashed with anti-fascist protesters in the city of Leicester, which has a large Muslim population. Eight people were arrested in those clashes. It is part of a pattern of behavior for the EDL, which has in the past burned Korans and carried signs declaring "We hate Muslims."

Whats shocking are Liberals who constantly defend Islam.

It seems the only backwards, abusive, dictatorial religion they hate is Christianity.

When I was living in Turkey, there weren't anymore backwards dictatorial Muslims than there are backwards dictatorial Christians in America. Having never actualy lived in a Muslim country, you're at the mercy of American media, which has programmed you to be afraid of Muslims. Oh, and that seems to be compounded by the righty bias conservative media has provided you. But you've got no excuse for your conservative bias, you live in a country full of Liberals. Since Liberals are less likely to support military conquests, they don't need to accept the demonization of Muslims, and are more likely to defend Islam because they don't need to hate Muslims as much as pro war righties do.

I was talking about the religion.

Having never actualy lived in a Muslim country, you're at the mercy of American media, which has programmed you to be afraid of Muslims.
More like all the reading I've done on the internet. If I were programmed by the overall
media message I would love Obama, be dismissive of Christianity, and defend the cultural
    diversity of tolerance toward Islam.

Oh, and that seems to be compounded by the righty bias conservative media has provided you. But you've got no excuse for your conservative bias, you live in a country full of Liberals.
I can be biased toward a crappy religion all I want.

Since Liberals are less likely to support military conquests, they don't need to accept the demonization of Muslims, and are more likely to defend Islam because they don't need to hate Muslims as much as pro war righties do.
So why are they so willing to demonize Christianity, or say Mormonism? The stuff Lefties
bash them for pales in comparison to Islam and Sharia but yet you don't hear a peep
    out of them about it.

This is silly and provacative. No different than Obama having relations with terrorist, or lefty groups having relations with those radical environmental groups. Some things are news and some things aren't. This is one of the non-news things.

I'm always skeptical of christians, but I realize the religion itself doesn't drive christians to do the crappy things some do in the name of it. Try not to indict Islam for the crappy things some Muslims do.

Anytime someone gives power over themselves to a collective group or God, it's kind of creepy to me. Cultish and unnerving somehow.

But what I think you are most likely mistaken about, is the percentage of Muslims in the world that actualy approve of sharia law. The only Muslims I met in the middle east who approved of that were my ex wife's relatives in Iran, now there was a crazy bunch. The Iraqii Kurds, the Syrians, and the Turks I've spoken to about it think of Sharia law as backwards. Another thing many westerners confuse with Islamic oppression is the traditional family structures in arab cultures. They're no different than the macho cultures in many non Muslim countries. In conservative Arab culture the woman stays home and has as many children as she can, and the man works. But even so, in Iraq, Syria, and Turkey most girls go to school and graduate high school, and are encouraged to continue thier education even if they marry. There were working women in government and most other sectors. it's only when you get out into the conservative hillbilly sticks that some men try to force women into thier traditional arab role. See...in Muslim countries it's mostly the conservatives who are afraid of change and are more likely to want sharia law to preserve thier regressive lifestyle. Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran are the conservative hillbillys of the middle east and are far more likely to have an axe to grind against the comparatively Liberal west.

For a non news story it sure has made the news. Try googling "is the tea party anti islamic", you'll see pages upon pages of links to various stories about anti Muslim speakers at Tea Party gatherings stirring up constroversy. This is far from an isolated story. Of course conservative media isn't covering it.

Christian anti gay sentiments aren't attributed to the bible?

You assume that's what I'm doing because I'm a "stupid Righty". Fact is I dont much care
for Islam, half the reported teachings of Muhammad originated in the context of war with
his neighbors and the religion itself is meant to be both political State and religion--I don't
    have any use for that.

I know, Sharia comes from a marriage of Middle Eastern Arab tribal law and Islam.

You need to show me where I said "all Muslims are bad" before you continue answering
    that implied sentiment.
