HUNTINGTON BEACH – Two people were taken to the hospital after they ate marijuana brownies.

Police on at about 9 p.m. Friday were called to Mario's restaurant on Main Street near Beach Boulevard after four people complained they were feeling sick after eating brownies they bought from a medical marijuana dispensary in Long Beach, Lt. Russell Reinhart of the Huntington Beach Police Department said.

They complained of hallucinations and difficulty breathing and paramedics took two of the patients to a hospital, police said.

Reinhart said police are not considering the incident a criminal act because the patients had medical marijuana cards, which makes consuming the brownies legal under state law.

While smoking marijuana produces effects almost immediately, ingesting marijuana can be a slower process with more intense effects, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine.

While in some cases marijuana taken in moderate doses produces euphoria, relaxation and increased site, hearing and taste, negative reactions can include panic attacks, trouble breathing, delirium and increased heart rate, the library of medicine reported.

Wow, that sounds just so safe and natural. This is supposed to be medicinal? What a joke.

What medicine is safe when you take too much of it.

Wonder how many articles you could find of people dying on alcohol or killed by alcohol in a wreck?

Really a stupid post there Gabe, what is it supposed to prove? That if you take too much of a medicine it could be bad for you? Thats right, it goes for all of them.

How do you know that they took too much? It's not anywhere in the article.

    Teens arrested in overdose death

EDGERTON — When Jennifer Bethel heard two kids were arrested in her son’s overdose death, the news was bittersweet.

“It’s a good thing, but then again it’s sad that it has to come down to this,” she said. “They’re so young, too. They probably didn’t realize the effects of what they did.”

Two Edgerton teens were arrested Thursday in the Feb. 9 oxycodone overdose death of Bethel’s son, Alex Aiken, 13, of Milton Township.

I think this is a remarkable use of peanut butter, so regardless of whether or not I agree, I must support this post.

Okay, anytime I see a debate on pot at least one dude will say it's safe because its natural. This means to me, it's not safe... just some people have stronger immune systems than others.
