Carbon Dioxide is the gas Al Gore and many other liberals wish to regulate. Like oxygen, carbon dioxide is a naturally occuring part of our atmoshpere. Though it exists in our atmoshpere as a trace element, it non the less has a crucial role in our physiology. Carbon dioxide is the gas that triggers excellerated repiration in people. It is not a low concentration of oxygen in the air that causes people to breath faster but rather it is a higher concenration of CO2 that causes it. Carbon dioxide is a required part of the atmosphere for peope and I find it silly to try to classify this heathy part of our atmosphere as a polltant.

Good luck JOM, these people were taught all their lives about the myth of green house gasses, and that is a pretty strong barrier to break through, sorta like fossil fuels.

When the next natural cooling trend gets rolling, they'll be pumping the stuff into the atmosphere.

Salt is also naturally occurring. If you fail to consume salt, you will die a horrible death, so it's needed for survival. If an adult consumes 240 grams of it at once, he'll most likely die a horrible death. So it's also a toxin. Or, start dumping salt into a freshwater stream, and you'll see plant and animal life start to die.

All the same arguments apply to carbon dioxide. To say it's "healthy" or "unhealthy" is ignorant. It's all about the quantities, and where it's found.

I'm suggesting that making a blanket presumption like "CO2 is harmless" is both wrong, and irresponsible. It's like saying "Salt is harmless."

I am saying salt and CO2 are both NOT pollutants.

anything can be a pollutant in the wrong quantities. salt is a pollutant to fresh water, and co2 can be a pollutant to air.
