Thread: G.E. and Fox News Silence Olbermann and O' Reilly Feud

"Voices from above" are supposedly putting an end to the feud between Olbermann and O' Reilly. In disturbing fashion, the corporations work together to dictate what opinions go on the air and what don't.

We're already aware that their job is not to bring you the news- it's to deliver a profit to their shareholders. They aren't independent media by any means.

This isn't so much about O' Reilly and Olbermann (who have dumbed down political discourse for ad revenue) as much as it is about the importance of looking at the big picture to see the issues of the world.

It gets pretty bad:

But like any title fight, the final round could not end without an attempted knockout. On June 1, the day after the abortion provider George Tiller was killed in Kansas, Mr. Olbermann took to the air to cite Mr. O’Reilly’s numerous references to “Tiller, the baby killer� and to announce that he would retire his caricature of Mr. O’Reilly.

“The goal here is to get this blindly irresponsible man and his ilk off the air,� he said.

The next day, Mr. O’Reilly made the extraordinary claim that “federal authorities have developed information about General Electric doing business with Iran, deadly business� and published Mr. Immelt’s e-mail address and mailing address, repeating it slowly for emphasis.

Then the attacks mostly stopped.

Oh man...no more Bill O'Reilly calling GE terrorists?...No more GE and Obama in cahoots over some government contract?...

I will never forgive O'Reilly for editing my email and making me sound crazy that one time, but that's a long story.

My wish for the both of them? Give each one a handful of Good & Plenty that are actually cyanide capsules.

End of problem.

The only feud I saw was an Olbermann one as he choose to make his show almost entirely about ORielly. ORielly seem to just blow him off. ORielly has reported on GE and what he sees as business being done with our enemies, THAT is a newsworthy topic whether you agree with it or not. Olbermann just comes over as jealous twit as his rants about ORielly are certainly not newsworthy. Of course MSNBC and it's constant whining about FOX comes across in totally as the whiny baby.

There's a little part of me that hoped MSNBC would fire Olbermann, FOX would fire O'Reilly, and then CNN would hire them both to co-host together on the same show.

As I said if it were constant they'd be just as bad as Olberman, I can turn on just about any given night and the first story out his mouth is his crying about ORielly, that's why I don't even bother anymore. But he does have a small obessed following who likes to hear that, when you can't beat em bash em you know.
