The two party system has failed America

The two party system has failed America

No shit, but the dictators will not allow any third party in, and by god if you happen to have a "fringe" candidate in their circle jerk, one who will not play the "same" games, the they sick their ministries of propaganda on them. It is totally disgusting watching partisan hacks make excuses for the thieves and liars in their party.

It doesn't help that many of the egomaniacs that have run as third party or "fringe" candidates have their eyes only aimed at one thing... the Presidency. If they would concentrate on developing a true grass roots organization that held seats at the state level, in the US House of Representatives, and the Senate, then maybe their candidate for President would be taken more seriously.

Its the equivalent of someone graduating from high school and applying for the job of bank president.

Imagine if the millions of dollars raised by Ron Paul went towards getting representatives and senators elected. Imagine if over time a block of even just 20% of Congress belonged to the Libertarians or any other third party. If you had 40% Dems, 40% Repubs, and 20% fringies... no one could get anything done or passed without appealing to that third party for their votes.

Nope. Can't do it. You go for it third party supporters... just keep throwing millions of dollars and countless hours towards another ill-fated presidential run. Then come back online and post about how no one takes your candidate seriously. That'll be productive.

Well we have the Campaign for Liberty, it is fairly new and I believe seated 11 members at state and national levels. This movement is gaining momentum, and might seat another dozen or so members in 2012. That said, third party is what this country needs right now and I mean in the white house. We can not continue this path were on and survive as a republic.

Who knows, it might've happened already if not for all this gunning for the top job over the last few decades.

This probably speaks to the immediate gratification problem in the country where no one wants to put extended time in for anything. Everyone wants it now.

Mike - I think the is the first time I've wholeheartedly and passionately agreed with you. I can't read the link because I'm at work (government watching my every keystroke, the fiends) but the title is God's truth. You cannot have democracy with a cap on political parties. I think 4 or 6 parties is the sweet spot, 3 is not enough and 7 is too many. However, Places like Japan and Italy have dozens. God bless them - the more the merrier.

*Note - the previous post is no way suggests that Italy has a government that any sane person would want to emulate. In fact... forget I mentioned Italy. Pretend I said a more repectable democracy.... like Hati or Rwanda.
