The people ain't buying the line Obama keeps spouting.


"WASHINGTON — Americans are overwhelmingly opposed to closing the detention center for suspected terrorists at Guantanamo Bay and moving some of the detainees to prisons on U.S. soil, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll finds.
By more than 2-1, those surveyed say Guantanamo shouldn't be closed. By more than 3-1, they oppose moving some of the accused terrorists housed there to prisons in their own states............


By 40%-18%, they said the prison had strengthened national security rather than weakened it...."


Only 18% believe the nonsense that it hurts our national security to keep it open.


"Those who want the prison to remain open feel more strongly on the subject that those who want to close it. A 54% majority of those polled say the prison shouldn't be closed, and that they'll be upset if the administration moves forward to close it."


And we strongly believe it should be kept open.

I understand it fits your agenda to single out Obama as if he came up with this idea, but I'd like to take this opportunity to point out some inconvenient facts.

1. Bush wanted to close Gitmo.

2. Military chiefs like General David Petraeus, Admiral Michael Mullen, the current head of the joint chiefs, and Colin Powel supports closing Guantanamo.

People are emotional and susceptible to fear mongering. Closing Guantanamo is absolutely a step in the right direction, and it absolutely does weaken our national security to keep it open.

And when you read why it is based on the propaganda put out by the left and how THAT, not Gitmo itself, has been used by our enemies.

Closing Guantanamo is absolutely a step in the right direction, and it absolutely does weaken our national security to keep it open.

Moving them all to another Gitmo does what exactly?

If the left and the Dems and the MSM would just shut up about it there would be no problem with it. Had Bush's political opponents not made an issue of it, had spoken the truth, that it is the BEST place to keep them and that they are being treated with as much humanity if not more than they deserve, it would never have been an issue.

And thankfully the majority of Americans have come to realize that.

The poll question asked both. They didn't ask "Should Gitmo be closed?" They asked "Should Gitmo be closed, and the detainees moved to U.S. prisons?"

This is a bullshit poll. It is a lie!!!!!!

I'm not opposed to keeping GITMO open....we may need it one day. However, we need to either charge it's inhabitants with a crime or send them back to their homelands! It's not the facility that caused our government to overstep it's bounds and hold people without access to due process of law. As for our national security? How has holding people in violation of the constitution, from Muslim lands WE invaded, improved our national security?? lmao!! Morons!!
