Hm... this is an interesting development -

So, who took over the Ministry of Propaganda, now that Karl Rove is under indictment?

A lot of good ideas in there. More power to whomever put that together. I didn't necessarily agree with all the points, but I'd be willing to compromise to get them implemented.

Which ones did you disagree with, gentlemen?

ididn't read the whole thing but one thing I noticed .. it said something to the effect that health care was our first freedom.. and all this time I thought the FIRST amendment was the FREEDOM of SPEECH...

A complete list of absolute liberal socialist horse shit. I completely disagree with almost every single issue, save one; "Bring back the Constitution." This entry is juxtaposed to most of the other items on the list.

I kinda thought that increasing public transit and bullet trains was a good idea. Reconfiguring the law to encourage small-scale farming also is reasonable. Reforming the IRS--hello? who could object to that? Trade schools are a reasonable idea considering how many kids aren't college material.

Closure of all torture facilities is a really good idea (and we should stop predicating our interrogation policies on Keifer Sutherland's behavior in any case). End our embargo of Cuba, good idea. Closing the School of the Americas--YES.

End the idiotic war on drugs and stop putting people in prison for marijuana use. Stop persecuting medical marijuana users and suppliers--Talk about big brother government, where are all the "get government off our backs" Republicans? Or at least stop being so hypocritical: if you're going to criminalize the sale and use of marijuana, then do the same for tobacco since it kills far more people than all the illegal drugs combined.

"Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"

I think they are talking about the life part. Legal scholars could probably interpret 'life' in many different contexts and give you thousands of definitions from the 1700s.

The list of items is too long for me to address all of them. Each one of these is a discussion thread on it’s own…….. But quickly:

Public train transportation has been tried and tried and failed and failed. Public transportation systems that cannot sustain themselves, i.e. systems that require massive subsidies to exist are not worth the costs.

“Greenest” country in the world? Right! Get rid of cars, cut off the electricity. And when we have the living standard of Ethiopia, ¾ of the population will die of starvation and exposure. Then we will be the greenest country in the world.

Small scale farming, sounds good on the surface. But government does not need to subsidize farming. Economy of scale and imported products are dictated by the buyers. Taxing the crap out of people in order to pay subsidies so that a product appears to be competitive cost the consumer more, not less. I sell beef to the market and I am not a Major Corp., nor do I require subsidies.

Reform the IRS? Absolutely, but read the blurb that goes with it. Quote “Stop taxing the poor and middle class”. We already have a overly progressive tax system. This is about taxing anyone with money to the point of total economic parity.

Trade schools… OK, this is a good idea. Except there is already methods for those with aptitude to get an education.

Guantanamo and Abu Ghraib are just torture facilities. School of the Americas is an American training academy for despots, assassins, and torturers. Pttth, more leftist hyperbole bullshit.

Cuba? Well, it is an unfriendly country ran by an oppressive dictator. But, since we denied them access to nuclear weapons, they are pretty harmless. We should consider them the same way we do Iran, North Korea, Venezuela or any other despot run country.

The idea that recreational drug use is good for people is silly. But, this country filling its judicial system and prisons with drug users is insane. This is a complex problem for which I have yet to hear a good solution. However, it is obvious that what we are doing now is not working.

The list goes on, but this is all the time that I will waste on it.
