As Harry Reid gets ready to use the Nuclear option to pass his version of Health Care reform I guess we all need to realize that reconciliation is only a "Arrogant Power Grab" when it's done by the Republicans.

    Biden:

"I pray God when the Democrats take back control we don't make the kind of naked power grab you are doing."

    Priceless.

I think I heard "Constitution" more times in that video than PBO's entire first year, except of course for

    "Constitution... are you serious".

Sometimes, I wonder if the Democrats should just be allowed to win. The GOP could just disband and let them have their grand American experiment.

It's frustrating trying to coordinate with a party that's dominated by anti-intellectualism and only cares about virtue, pragmatism, and economy since it only learns lessons from consequences and only pays attention to urgency when it's on the horizon.

I used to be a socialist when I was younger, say around junior high times, and the reason for it was because of all the procedural headaches citizens get from democracy coexisting with free markets. There's always a bunch of wise guys who fuck it all up just so they can use charisma to get their way.

Both my belief and the wise guy procurement of headaches are rational, but they're stupid, so I changed my mind.

The question still stands though about whether or not yuck factor politics create more headaches than enduring charismatic manipulation.

Maybe we should just nuke ourselves. I dunno. That way, at least the rest of the world will get it's own global experiment and be forced to endure a world without a global policeman...\

...or maybe it won't endure anything or have an experiment at all because anarchy won't be handled properly.

Fuckin I hate (power) politics. Can't people just stop making noise and be honest? Wtf is the goddamn matter with everyone?

Right back to square one when I was a little kid, heh. I should stop drinking.

As a patriot, I respect you not because you're an American, not because you're a human being, nor because you're an Earthling. I respect you because you're a person.

In case you missed it, they did. Democrats control the government right now.

You're going to chase your tail trying to figure out government if you continue seeing it as a body that looks

out to the nation and tries to find solutions... government is looked to as the solution by people in the nation

who want things to work their way. It's a constant struggle between powerful factions to have the biggest

footprint in the halls of power. In a way it matters little if the structure is socialist, democratic, or dictatorship.

    Is it hypocritical? You betcha

Is it indicative of the American POlitical experience? You betcha

Has both parties made the same hypocritical statements time and again since the dawn of the nation? Yup

    Is this really news? Nope

The Democrats will do this and they should if only to finally stand up to the morons across the aisle. Some reform is better then none given the situation we are in.

There are times, my boy, when doing nothing is better than doing something stupid. No one is opposed to no reform.

yes and the consequences from the last election could be felt for many elections to come. I am not one who holds the view to support a bad thing to happen just to show it would be bad but in this case it is working out to a tee. I wish it never happened but at the very least we can make the most of it and get some good out of it. Lemonade anyone?

reminds me of when Joycelyn Elders allowed faulty condoms to be distributed in Arkansas schools because doing something was better than doing nothing.

Typical lib logic and it hasn't changed.
