    Pontiac's Demise

So Pontiac's gone. My whole life, I've loved Pontiac. My first favorite cars were the old Firebirds (along with the T-bodied Camaro Z28s). My first ever car was a 2003 5-speed manual Pontiac Vibe.

And my first dream car was the Pontiac G8.

But oddly, I'm glad to see Pontiac decommissioned, rather than face the humiliation the rest of General Motors has had to face. It's almost like they actually get a chance to say goodbye in the next year, rather than be hurried out of the picture. They've already become a classic marque, now they'll be legendary.

And if GM makes it through this, maybe it will be great to see them come back when I'm, say, 50.

    What do you think?

Perhaps someone will jump on the name and products and buy them and be able to get rid of the union and it's fiancial drag and continue to make them. Drove many a Grand Prix GT and GTS series.

    Pontiacs are chunks of shit.

I am glad that they are disappearing. Now perhaps simpletons in this country that are stupid enough to buy one will be forced to buy a vehicle that is of quality.

Really? Every Pontiac I have dealt with has worked fine. Either you never owned one, or you never took good care of one.

    I owned a 1985 Firebird SE.

Pontiac's are giant piles of steaming fecal matter.

Well, they're built to be performance cars (with a few exceptions). You have to treat them as such. You can either have a supercharger who will burn out without proper care, or a Camry who will never impress you with anything but her reliability.

What? Are you claiming the two are mutually exclusive?
