McCain: I was misled on bailout

Sure you were McCain, you treasonous bastard.

This clown is facing a tight race to maintain his seat, hell he sent Palin and Beck in to rescue it. Now he wants to tell a whopper. He knew the details of the Bailout, he pushed it, gave it his all, and played hero to "take time away from his campaign" to grandstand for it, bla, what an oxymoron that is. Now he want to play innocent, because he knows the political savoy realizes that the bailouts are a scam, one that outweighs 700 billion, try somewhere around 27 trillion.

My advice to him, he has what he needs, retirement is in order. Hell give the country a break!

If I recall correctly there were literally millions of people calling/emailing/writing congress saying NO to the bailout when it was under discussion.

"Misled" WTF is that supposed to mean? Weak.

McCain, a man I greatly admire - I worked in his campaign 1999 - should go away now.

Working from memory, over 80% opposed it, therefore you knew it had to pass.

Yep, I hate to say it... but, McCain should go quietly into the night. I think both parties need some new blood that's less tainted by the mistakes, PACs, etc...
When it comes to GOP stupidity, there's no need to make stuff up.

The process is broken because America plays politics like a cheesy 1970's gameshow instead of like their livelihoods were on the line. As long as Americans cast their votes ala American Idol for the Jerry Springer show that is American politics, without any real knowledge or understanding of how to vote in their own self-interests, the likes of this clown will be the predominant force on the political stage. It's not who you are. It's who you can pretend to be. It's been that way for a very, very long time, certainly at least throughout all of American history. If the image and the reality occasionally overlap, that fundamental truth remains: image is everything.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure that $27 trillion number was randomly generated.
Noooooo! Not the YouTube links. Anyway, doling out 23.7 trillion dollars...

Wouldn't that be like me giving 3 gallons of blood at the blood bank? I mean...in the sense that the entire GNP was less than that? It just sounds....kind of ridiculous.

Of course it sounds senseless, until you learn about printing, leveraging, and guarantees. Then it becomes sensible, well to them anyway. This vid is spot on, the banks created an infinite supply of money, and federal reserve lead the way, this is why it needs to be closed down.
I'm not sure the Fed needs to be closed down. A central bank is pretty much essential to a modern economy. But the way it works is certainly due to be thoroughly re-examined. Rebuilding the whole thing at once is probably not feasible. Coming up with a new ideal in detail and then rebuilding the house a little at a time according to those plans might be a better idea.
