US Military to set up Check Points

Seat belt enforcement my ass. I will post the PDF, go to page 2...here is a sinp....

    The Whiteville Police
    Department (WPD) will conduct
    a seat belt checkpoint on
    Saturday, April 4, 2009, on
Hwy 64 within the city limits
    of Whiteville, TN. This checkpoint
    will be in conjunction
    with a Homeland Security
    training exercise by the 251st
    Military Police in Bolivar who
    recently returned from Iraq.
    Although uniformed military
    personnel will be visible at
    the checkpoint, the military
    participation will be strictly
    observation. The military
    police uses checkpoints to disseminate
    information and
    ensure safe movement in the
event of a terrorist attack, natural
    disaster or other large-scale

    emergency.

This is criminal.......Before we get started, I am not against seat belts, I am against the use of check points to enforce anything. There are members of the board who support this type of shit, that is a shame, and I find them to be cowards. This is how Martial Law starts, I hope you understand that!!

Are you against laws requiring seat belt usage? Are you against enforcing laws? And yes the police have a duty to enforce such laws and have teh authority to set up a checkpoint to ensure people are abiding they law. If you don't like motorvehicle law enforcement then don't use a car on public streets.

If you don't like it get your city council to forbide them.

As far as the military, when else are they suppose to train for such things? This seems like a cost effective way to do it.

I agree with you. Checkpoints are just another way for them to control us.

I am, make a case for these laws and explain how this is not complete and total control over our actions that do not affect others..

exactly... its not so much that they may save lives.. although I have had friends killed in wrecks that were wearing their belts...it is a control thing..and always has been.. its like smoking bans... you can own a business but the powers that be tell you how to run it ... also the posse comitatus rule is being violated and we the sheeple can do nothing about it yet..... I am still waiting to join the ranks of 300 million Americans getting totally pissed and taking back our country...

according to a fox call in survey this morning .. 90% af callers said they are angry with the way government is expanding its powers and spending us into oblivion that even our great grandchildren will be unable to pay

If people can figure out a way to not cost taxpayer money when they get all mangled and die in a car accident then I'll agree with the sentiment here. Until that comes to pass I'm for air bag, seatbelt, and speed limit enforcement.

As for the OP, I'm against Martial Law, I'm for the military training in real world situations in hopes that they can be more effective and have that training play a part in saving their lives one day. The military is not our enemy, it is made up of US citizens with sons and daughters and moms and dads and aunts and uncles and shit. I see no reason to ban air just because if one day we fall under martial law the fascists will need it to breathe.

Well, thats just all that needs to be said about this. I agree.

I remember a few of these checkpoints when Texas placed the seatbelt law. I was very young, some 25+ years ago.

Fair enough, until non-sanctioned tackle football is banned.

Fix the problem, don't hide behind percentages and statistics to assist in limiting our liberties. If the problem resides within the healthcare system, then that is where the focus should be.
