As the health care ideas presented by the Government have been taken different ways by different people, I'm curious to see what everyone here has to say.

    Personally

I have had many people in my family sick as of late. I've lost many family members in the past couple of years and I sometimes wonder if they got the best medical care possible. I personally feel like the overall efficiency of health care will go down. I feel this way because I feel like the government is trying to put restrictions on insurance companies and doctors. Really, that sounds like a good idea in theory, but then again so does communism. I feel like this will eventually cause doctors to make less money, driving down the benefits or incentive to become a doctor in the first place. This I think will lead to a decrease in the number of new doctors, and also the overall quality of health care(seeing as with less doctors, I feel it is alright to assume it will take more time to get treated). This I honestly think is bad for most people. I also do not understand why the government feels a need to orchestrate this. I feel like realistically that the governments main role is to be in charge of the military, not to meddle in personal affairs of the people, so I don't think that they have the right to affect the people that much, and I feel as a citizen instead of the government taking care of you that you need to have responsibility for yourself.

That's all I have time to write at the moment, but I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts.

I'm starting to think this healthcare garbage is just being used to cover-up their dismal handling of the economy.

Here are my thoughts which no doubt will not be very popular here.

The government has no constitutional authority to give health care any more than they have the right to put clothes on our backs. If they did would they issue us all one uniform?

Adding 50 million people to a system that is already strapped and handling 203 million people is going to make health care more hard to find. The amount of care WILL HAVE TO BE RATIONED.

In the same way with clothing, you may not be forced to wear the government uniform of the day, but why pay for clothes twice? Once in taxes then once to wear what you want? Well the same thing is going to happen with health care. Why should business pay tax for health care then pay additionally for private company health care? It is more expensive and will cut into profits. Many small businesses will try to make employees happy, but it will boil down to laying off people to give them their continued health care or keeping employees and putting them on government health care.

Taxes to pay for this are going to go through the roof. Yes we will have to pay for abortions because they are not excluded. It is a medical procedure and will not be denied.

It is in the bill that we will have to pay for all illegal aliens. That is at least 14 million. If it goes through only then will we find out how many illegals are really here. How many more will come for FREE health care? LOTS!. Expect that number to skyrocket.

The bill calls for medical research to come to a standstill. So actually the newer drugs and procedures that are coing ourt will trickle down and no one will get them. What we have we will have for years. Very little research will happen because it is being cut back for funding.

As in the UK and Canada eventually the system will bankrupt the country. Vancouver has to stop giving care to thousands they say because they can't afford it. This past week a woman gave birth on the sidewalks of England because they didn't have enough ambulances. Personally I have a friend in the UK who has a very bad heart condition. He waited DAYS for an ambulance! He waited 4 months for "emergency" heart surgery and was sent to two different hospitals. One couldn't do his surgery because they didn't have the doctors. The other was booked solid where doctors were working 18 hours a day 7 days a week. and they couldn't get him in.

In Canada gett8ng a blood test for something that is not essential can take one and a half years. Or you pay out of pocket $900.00 for it my friend who lives on Prince George island told me.

he waited a year and a half to get his teeth fixed. He spent that year and a half in pain, but the dentists were all booked up. He still does not have his own health care physician. he hasto go to a clinic and see whoever is available.

It will do the same thing here.

If they are really interested in cutting back on health care costs which is what this is all about supposedly, at least that is their excuse. Then allow insurance companies to go nationally and take customers from all 50 states. Less regulation will allow more competition, better prices and better choices.

If the government does this, then they will out price the private sector because there is a profit margin that independent businesses have to work under. It is fair as well, not only to the business but the people who work and invest in them. Out price the private sector and people lose more jobs.

Not to mention that 3 of 3 reports say that Obama's plan will cost more and do less than what is being done today. That it will eventually bankrupt the country because it is unsustainable.

The health care industry is already the most regulated industry in the united states. How MORE government is going to help this situation is by having less government involvement.

Open the markets and let business do what it does best. Provide better services at reasonable rates and employ more people as it does so.

Medicare, medicaid, post office, social security are all failing. Will be in deficits if they are not already, yet health care proponents think that this will be different somehow. It has failed everywhere on the planet, it will fail here as well.

    That's a lie. A bizzare one too.

I live in Vancouver. Health insurance is provided by The Provincially run Medicare system.

    http://www.health.gov.bc.ca/msp/infoben/benefits.html

It is mandatory for all residents and is universal. I'm pretty sure if thousands of people's care was stopped we would have noticed. And since my work takes me to hospital, clinics, rehabs and recovery houses on a daily basis - I certainly would have noticed.

I'm interested to see the context of this, as I'm sure you got it from somewhere online, I'd also suggest questioning the motives of whoever made it up to 'prove' their point.

Bullshit. There's no such place as Prince George Island. I've never heard of it, and neither has Google.

That's exactly it. That's opposition to universal health care in the US. Lie, lie lie lie lie lie again. Lie and lie and lie. Spin whatever lie possible. Spin it and spin it, confuse everybody, make sure nobody for a second can trust anything they hear or read. Lie and lie and lie again.

If that's what you call freedom your country is fucked.
