I just thought I would share something I found interesting.
So last week I took the FBI exam just to see if I could pass it. Before we could leave we were required to fill out a form that notified them of our race. I noticed a change on it that I hadn't seen before on other forms I've submitted in applications in the past. I found it so odd I literally stared at it in complete confusion for a while. This is apparently the new government affirmative action hiring form. Has anyone else noticed these changes?
Please mark which of the following group/s you belong to:
1. American Indian/Eskimo
2. African American/African continent descent
3. Hispanic-includes all South American countries including Cuba and Puerto Rico, and Mexico
4. Caucasian-includes European, Middle Eastern, and Asian descent
Since when are Middle Easterners and Asian descents considered to be under the category of 'Caucasian'?
I'm assuming, by this questionnaire that there is no longer a goal in place to hire an equal amount of backgrounds that include Asian and Middle Eastern leaving me to believe that the government no longer feels they need the 'protection' to succeed.
Does anyone else have any other conclusion I may have missed?
