    The myth of Ronald Reagan

In the tradition of most previous Reagan critics, Kleinknecht doesn’t try to draw a bead on Reagan from an ivory tower. He goes after Reagan from the blue collar on up: “He enacted policies that helped wipe out the high-paying jobs for the working class that were the real backbone of the country. ... His legacy—mergers, deregulation, tax cuts for the wealthy, privatization, globalization—helped weaken the family and eradicate small-town life and sense of community.”
Reaganomics did create fortunes, but mostly for those at the top of the economic ladder; it also brought “a reversal in the slow gains that the working class and the poor had made in the previous two decades.”

Good read about "The man who sold America".

As usual, it is the same old things with you radical libs - like tax cuts for the wealthy, deregulation, etc. These are the same old talking points for the loons on the left. NOTHING NEW! BORING! Equally as well, all are incorrect and proven so. Look, if cheating on your taxes or cheating on your wife is a quality of the Democrat Party; then, I say you guys have the Republicans beat all the time. But, for strength and honor, I'll take Ronald Wilson Reagan anytime over radical, terrorist loving, wife cheating, current and past leaders of the Democrat Party.

I has always amused me how Reagan has been rewritten When Reagan was in power we had a TV program here called "Ruggery Figures" It had a running gag about "Reagans Brain is on Vacation"

here are a couple of examples

Thanks, Inky. I read a little of it. I remembered him as being an asshole, but was kind of surprised he was an even bigger asshole that I thought.

    And a total fake.

He started out ok then he got shot. If his economic policy were to play out then we would not be where we are today, but he got shot. I did vote for him twice, and the butcher of Iraq once, maybe I should have got shot for that.

Here is a little surpirse Inky

Many Republicans will have widespread anger and rabid resentment on this one. This is Ronald Reagan we're talking about- they adore this man.

However, it does take an interesting look at Reagan policy from a cultural standpoint. More should have been covered about divisive social policy that Reagan eneacted, from drugs to communist paranoia that the party still apes to this day.

Reagan was also fertilizer for a rapidly expanding government, which was massive by unprecedented proportions by the time he left office.
