No confidence is how I take it. When asked who has their best interests at heart — Obama or President George W. Bush — a higher percentage of respondents picked Bush.

they may be wary of obama, thats normal considering hes a new president, but considering bush's handling of veteran affairs, extended tours, lack of proper euipment, and overal bungling of the war, i find it hard to believe that service men and women think bush is really looking out for them. i mean no offense, but if they really believe that then they're idiots.
I'm not seeing where he's particularly unpopular.
Let's examine this statement, shall we? They have lumped uncertain with pessimistic. Now, let's try lumping uncertain with optimistic. When asked how they feel about President-elect Barack Obama as commander in chief, six out of 10 active-duty service members say they are uncertain or pessimistic, according to a Military Times survey.
Now, 7 out of 10 are optimistic or waiting to see. And if we lump undecideds in there, 75% of those surveyed had either favorable non-judgemental responses.
And while 1/3 of active military are optimistic about Obama only 1/4 are not.
Uncertain isn't necessarily a bad thing. He's not even the president yet, and these are tough times to be in the White House. Of course people are uncertain. That doesn't mean shit, really.
Who cares who the service members have more confidence in..? What do they know about Bush vs. what they know about Obama? My guess is they do not know anything about either, only what they have learned by spin in the media. This "Confidence" is useless. If the soldiers were at all confident in Bush, their opinion is obviously not important enough to even consider..
