I really have never seen that. It makes for a good way to simplify issues but theres not much truth to it. What exactly is so far left? He bent to the republicans will on healthcare, spending and wasting months trying to win their support. His plan for healthcare was already farther right than Nixon's view. His stimulus bill probably should have been bigger. He has escalated Afghanistan. He has been right of center on taxes. Delayed closing Gitmo. To say that he is radical is to rob the word of any meaning.

Nothing stood in the way of the HC legislation except for "out of line" Democrats.

His stimulus bill probably should have been bigger.

No it should have been focused on the economy, not just union jobs, and the Apollo Alliances vision of

a new green economy.

He has escalated Afghanistan.

Because he was told that's how you get out, something he disagreed with before being President.

He has been right of center on taxes.

No their just waiting until later in his term to hit people with the bill.

Delayed closing Gitmo.

Again, not because he wants to, but because he was originally ignorant of issues complexity.

Obama could have gone either way on Afghanistan. He decided on the escalation based on his advisors/generals, that is normal. He made a decision based on the evidence presented to him, and decided on a pretty "right wing" decision. I agree. Although I don't know if he was ignorant, or if "I'll close Gitmo within two years probably" just doesn't make a good campaign tag. Still, I think he could have taken a much stronger/different stance, but didn't. Maybe that was a bad example, but I think that is true in a lot of areas.

Because billions of bush's tax cut dollars are now being spent to bring them down.
