    Final assessment of Bush presidency

Since Bush has little over two months left, I figure it is unlikely there will be any more major issues he could deal with that would be likely to change opinion on him. So I would like you to rate his presidency. One being the best, five the worst.

Well, that was easy. "Abysmal", that's a good word.

But um... pal.... it ain't OVER yet! :jawdrop:

Bushie's still got two more months to SCREW SOMETHIN' UP!!!

I'm "pretty sure" the Senators are watchin' him very closely, so that part gives me a LITTLE comfort. You know, they were FURIOUS about that little bailout thing, when Paulson came to 'em and told 'em we were three days away from a Depression?

And they're like, three DAYS??? WTF??? And Paulson's like: :dunno:

And, I don't think that sat too well with 'em. That got 'em PISSED, and the story I'm hearin' is, that they pretty much told Bushie to keep his grubby little paws off the tiller till Jan. 20th.

Whether he DOES that or not, remains to be seen. (Actually, it's kinda Cheney I'd be more worried about, 'cause THAT guy seems to have an agenda of his own).

But the point is, they're being watched VERY closely right now, and I mean, you know, that is what's so WIERD about these people. Even now as we speak, there's a whole SLEW of last-minute regulatory changes coming down from the Bush administration, and it's almost like a "parting gift" to all these various industries, it frees 'em of a whole lot of stuff....

But I mean, all this is happening, with the FULL knowledge, that Obama's gonna reverse every single one of those things the moment he gets to the White House. Two months from now, all that crap is gonna be right back to where it is today.

So, seein' stuff like THAT, gets me worried a little. It's like, Bushie's gonna do what he wants to do ANYWAY, and once AGAIN - who cares what the People want.

He's a strange bird, that Bush. Yeah, I'm of the "everything they touch turns to sh*t" school, when it comes to Bushie and the Neo-Cons. That pretty much sums up my experience with these people.

Way too soon. He's promised more Executive Orders to allow mining in the Grand Canyon for an example. He's promised a lot more damage before he leaves office. There probably is not a adjective invented to describe how bad this guy is.

Anyone who even says that Bush is even average has got some real explaining to do.

I would certainly love to see how they will try and spin his presidency.

Even though someone can try to argue that Bush had some good plans... that really messed up, since this poll is about his results, everyone really needs to give him an objectively low score.

I think one of his best moves was solidifying the Ex-Soviet states as trade partners, which will one day create a whole new war...somehow..

    Final?

Give it 20 years, at least.

The economy's glide path could make Bush look like one of the worst.

    Iraq could go either way.

Final assessments take decades for the partisans to relax and find new targets and for the historians to look at the FACTS.

Bush is average. Better than Carter, way better than Wilson, FDR or Kennedy.

On a par with the Rapist he replaced.

No where near Washington, Lincoln, or Reagan.

    Easy.

    "Average" is defined as:

The sum of the population divided by the number of elements in the population, ie the "mean".

The most common occuring element in a population, ie, the "mode".

The point in the middle of the distribution, the "median".

Pretty much Bush is in the middle of what the other 42 president's have done.

You did know what the word "average" meant, didn't you?

    Hit
His tax cut saved the economy from what could have been a huge disaster coming out of the Clinton recession and then 9/11.

His quick action against the Taliban.

His finally solving the Saddam problem.

Having the fortitude to see Iraq through to the success we have seen are seeing and hopefully will continue to see.

    Miss

Should have veto'd more spending (but without line item Presidents hands are tied)

Should have change strategy in Iraq earlier.

    Been tougher on drilling.

    Immigration.

    The bail outs.

As far as promoting his policy and getting things done that he wanted, he was actually effective. Also, eventhough he did get some help from the Democrats and John Kerry, he was able to get re-elected.

So if the grade was on his effectiveness in promoting his own agenda, I would probable give him a B minus or a B.

The problem is that the policies that he was effective in implementing were bad for the country and I therefore give him an F minus.
