Maybe you can pretend that Palin has intelligence but it was obvious to me and the rest of the country that she was severely lacking. That was not at all apparent with Obama.

I was at an awards banquet the other night, about six or eight other couples at our table and all were well into that 250+ category. I would have bet every last one of them was for McCain except when the subject came up, the guy across this big round table says "I was for McCain but when he selected Palin I had to stop and think". He said he could not vote for him and knew a slew of others who did likewise. I changed the subject to sailing just so I would not get started.

And the press has been really trying to kill her popularity
She does a good enough job of that all by herself.

If Palin is inexperienced , what do you call Obamer? What is in his resume that qualifies him, besides following Bush and a failing economy.

Columbia, Harvard, Law degree, practicing attorney, Professor of constitutional Law at a major Law school, State senator from a state 20 times the size of Alaska's constituency, US senator from Illionois and the 20 month campaign he lead that made everybody else look like fools.

"Community organizer", is part of what this next President has to do.

In EVERY nuance of that concept!

I don't think "experience" is the issue, Thor. It's more, some kinda "naivete" on Palin's part.

You know, I mean, that little "grooming" with the Neo-Cons, that was pretty revealing. And, the little bit with the clothing there, that was revealing too.

Hm... well, I wanted to tell you a story, but I just thought better of it. I'll say it this way, though: power, always wants (and needs) to get its hooks into you somehow. See, 'cause, it's better to CONTROL the guy makin' the decisions, than it is to make the decisions yourself. That is FUNDAMENTAL, it's Machiavelli 101. That's why, people who recruit spies, they always "got somethin' on 'em". There's something they can hold over their heads, to "control" them, and make them do what they're supposed to do.

Sarah Palin, is no dummy. She seems to have caught on to that little bit "pretty quick". BUT, for whatever reason, she seems to have gone along with it. She clearly didn't BUY it, but she went along with it.

Now, Obama, is a different story. We're going to have to see how he responds to the "establishment". At the present moment, his strategy seems to be, to get them inside the tent pissin' out. That's SMART. That's a good way to start building consensus on more IMPORTANT things, for use later on. Contrast that, with the behavior of a Reagan, whose very first speech after he won, contained words to this effect: "all those people who gave me money, you may THINK I owe you something, but I dont'. I don't owe you a darn thing, and I'm not gonna give you anything either". I mean, THAT, made me very proud to be an American!

See, so, Obama, is a different character. His "control" of these establishment types, will be a little different in the making. It will be studious, and calculated. It will "take a while". It'll also depend on some "luck", in other words it'll respond to "events". But the DIRECTION of it, is pretty clear. If you want to be the boss, you need to consolidate power, and there's a "system" for doing that, a "method", and it's pretty much the only one that works. There's different "ways" to do it, but the gist of what's goin' on, is always the same. The BEST people at doing this kind of thing, are the people who don't "peg themselves" in terms of their behavior. So, like, some people are friendly and gregarious, others are distant and aloof, and so on. But the operational REALITIES are, the need to get accurate information out of people, the need to find people you can trust, the need to build "networks", and the need for "checks and balances". Building "loyalty", is kinda the startup phase usually, but I mean, in national politics, that bit of the equation is a little different. Nevertheless, Weaselton is a palace of intrigue, and there are MANY agendas floatin' around, and they're not always the President's. You know, like, Nancy Pelosi's probably got a "mole" in the White House now, and, I'm sure AIPAC does too..... y'know?
