Obama team reviewing 'virtually every agency'

(CNN) -- The head of President-elect Barack Obama's transition team said Sunday that the incoming administration is conducting an extensive review of President Bush's executive orders.
Asked about reports that the transition team already has identified a number of areas where Obama could issue executive orders as soon as he takes office, John Podesta said he would not "preview decisions that [Obama] has yet to make."
"I would say that as a candidate, Sen. Obama said that he wanted all the Bush executive orders reviewed and decide which ones should be kept and which ones should be repealed and which ones should be amended, and that process is going on. It's been undertaken," Podesta said Sunday on "Fox News."
Podesta pointed out that there is a lot the president can do without waiting for Congress, and voters can expect to see Obama do so to try and restore "a sense that the country is working on behalf of the common good."

Well, this sounds encouraging. Hey MichaelR, even you should have something positive to say about this....

It depends on what the final outcome is, what PDD's are removed and the what the amendments will be. Shit this could take time, Bush has pardoned himself from many crimes and hid many others.

Tell you what Inky, on this I will take the wait and see approach with fingers crossed that Obama does the right thing, if he does he will get the respect from me that he deserved.(double edged sword here)

I think that's whtat the entire country is doing...waiting, and watching.
After the last 8 years, you can bet your ass that people will apply more scrutiny to our leadership...but maybe that's just wishful thinking on my part.

Obama and his team have hit the ground running. This country will move back on track and regain the world's respect.

Who gives a shit about that, if Obie runs our economy into the ground, as he's going to do?

The idiots are babbling about yet another "stimulus package" which will do nothing except add to the national debt.

The idiot is talking about halting the placement of anti-missile batteries in Poland, just because the Russkies object. The Weasel Elect has already established his wimpy uncertain and basicly naive approach to foreign policy, "oh, please can't we just all get along?"

If spinelessness if what "the world" wants from the United States, "the world" can kiss my ass.

Certainly if Obie is serious about emasculating US power abroad, he must immediately, as Commander in Chief, order the complete evacuation of US troops from Germany, France, the rest of Europe, and Japan, not to mention running away from our responsibilities in Iraq and Afghanland.

Certainly we have no good reason to continue to keep troops in Europe. The Age of Aquarius has returned.

Only those that intrude on the sphere of power controlled by Congress. Which is practically all of them

Obama hasn't taken office and the economy is already in the toilet.

    That's not a certainty.

It's called being diplomatic instead cowboyishly offensive.

    Unlike you, I'm not igorant.

So I'm not stupid enough to believe that raising taxes now is anything but a formula for repeating the mistakes FDR made.
