My biggest disappointment from this election.

SAN FRANCISCO—San Francisco voters have turned down the chance to rename a local sewage plant after President Bush.

Voters rejected Proposition R, a lighthearted attempt to memorialize the outgoing president at the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant.
The measure's supporters say calling it the George W. Bush Sewage Plant would have been a fitting tribute to the 43rd president. They blamed Bush for a long list of national woes from the Iraq war to the slumping economy.
Some critics had pointed out the name switch would have been unfair—to the hard-working sewage plant. The White House had declined comment on the measure, but other Republicans have denounced it as childish and stupid.
No George Bush sewage plant for San Francisco - San Jose Mercury News

What about 8? Not that you asked...but the Obama election means at least the next four years will not see some southern baptist elected to the supreme court. At the same time...bigots who've deluded themselves into the retarded notion that they're protecting the institution of marriage won on 8, for now.

Well Obama won California and he's a Bush-clone, so why would you people want to insult Bush?

I'm actually surprised this didn't pass; I thought this one would be a no-brainer to win. Perhaps people thought it was too much of a joke?

Are you implying that ANY president has recently or ever made religion a primary criteria?

Is there something superior about Obama's church (United Church of Christ)?

What do you have against Southern Baptists? Allow me to quote one:

"I don't think that there's any conflict at all between science today and the scriptures. I think that we have misinterpreted the Scriptures many times and we've tried to make the Scriptures say things they weren't meant to say, I think that we have made a mistake by thinking the Bible is a scientific book. The Bible is not a book of science. The Bible is a book of Redemption, and of course I accept the Creation story. I believe that God did create the universe. I believe that God created man, and whether it came by an evolutionary process and at a certain point He took this person or being and made him a living soul or not, does not change the fact that God did create man. ... whichever way God did it makes no difference as to what man is and man's relationship to God."Billy Graham: Personal Thoughts of a Public Man

Graham has had a personal audience with every sitting United States President since Harry Truman

I had a turd-bird in a jar propped up on a stick for a branch... one of those pieces of dried cow manure from a sun baked field with feathers and a seashell beak and two small pebbles for eyes and various ugly feathers sticking out of it.

I named it George W Bush, then changed my mind. I really didn't want to insult turds that way. I mean, they stink but not that bad, no way no how.

Maybe they really didn't want to jinx a good seweage plant with a flawless record.

It doesn't matter if it's primary, secondary, or reason #365. Complete seperation of church and state is important because not all Americans are Christians.

The only exception within Christianity is the Presbyterian Church. The Presbyterians are the only Church where the Minister is required to have a college degree. Because of that most of them are not ignorant idiots speaking in tounges and playing with snakes.
