    12:31 Election Day morning

Sometimes around here we get the feeling this isn't the way it is but...

In about 22 hours, we'll know who the next president of the United States will be. Regardless of what side your on, who you support or what it is you believe, I'm sure we can all agree that in these 22 hours, the new beholder of the most powerful office in the world will be freely and democratically elected by his country's people. This is the greatest truth of this day.

No matter what you imagine the outcome of the next four years will be, Liberty prevails on this upcoming night..

We hope. Forgive my cynicism but voter suppression of minorities and the poor is a real problem.

It is interesting to be up right now realizing this is the day. It reminds me of the year I ran the Chicago Marathon and the night before the race around bedtime. Everything was really quiet but, by 7 AM - bedlam. Its pre race anticipation.

This is one of the best days and it only comes around once every four years. I am packing my lunch and getting my supplies together to work as a poll worker for 14 of the next 15 hours. It truly is a great way to watch our democratic republic at work; no matter which candidate you support. Even though I do have a preference; working as a poll worker, our duty is to assist voters who are eligible to cast their vote for the candidate of their choice.
I wish everyone would take the opportunity to work the polls at least once in their lives. Whichever candidate wins, they will need our prayers and support as they lead our nation in this time of vast challenges. Everyone, go vote if you have not already.

How do you know that the President will be elected freely and democratically? I am skeptical of the whole system.

Because Obama is going to win, therefore it must have been free and democratic.

D, your ridiculous. Just once someone asks you to stop with the negativity and reflect on the greatest election of this era. But no, you and Blue can't show one ounce of positivity....

Your right, Barack Obama is probably going to win. That being what it is, get used to it. Even if a President Obama did the opposite of everything you hate and set out to please only you, you'd still hate him, cause you can't find solace in anything

Let us not assasinate this man further, you've done enough. Have you no sense of decency sir, at long last, have you no sense of decency?
