    Chris Matthews said:

"He is post-racial, by all appearances," the liberal host said on the air. "I forgot he was black tonight for an hour. You know, he's gone a long way to become a leader of this country, and past so much history, in just a year or two. I mean, it's something we don't even think about."

Dr. Imani Perry, a professor at Princeton's Center for African American Studies.

"As a black American I want people to remember who I am and where I come from without attaching assumptions about deficiency to it,"

Chris Matthews is a supporter of President Obama and clearly not a racist. What he is saying is that when he looks at President Obama he sees the man, not the race. This is not a judgement on the race at all. It's just like when I look at a white guy I don't think to myself that he's a white guy, I just think he's a guy. President Obama is breaking down barriers and some people are trying to reconstruct them.

I guess that's a fairly obvious admission he just cant keep race off his mind the rest of the time.

Yep, for a guy that's "not a racist" he sure seems preoccupied with PBO's color.

I think Matthews was speaking pretty frankly, honestly and objectively. I don't see the issue here.

I think Matthews would have Obama's children... Matthew's feelings, which extend well past man-crush and into adoration and worship, are well documented by the videotapes of his TV show.

In other words, anything Mathews says about Obama is wack.

The only issue is that Chris Matthews was no longer preoccupied with Obama's race, along with most other political commentators. What I found curious about the comment was that Chris Matthews seemed to have no idea how much of the race crap has been driven by people like him, and so for him to forget it was a big deal...to him.

My peeps here can't see the forest for the trees. lol

So, Matthews looks at President Obama and sees him, not be the color of his skin, but by the content of his character. Is that not a good thing? A bunch of black people are upset... and why?

I think this is the result of the hypersensative PC racial barrier that we have built between races, in the name of making them equal.
