US Missile Defense official: Iran will soon have ability to attack Europe, US

The head of the Pentagon's Missile Defense Agency said Friday that Iran was not far from attaining the means of using missiles against all of Europe and against the US in five to six years, Israel Radio reported.

Lt. Gen. Henry A. Obering III was speaking in Prague in an effort to convince the Czech Parliament to approve a US missile defense installation in the country's territory.

Just because Iran could launch a missle at us doesn'y mean they will. They might have a 50% success rate with their technology so you better believe that any launch would mean that they would be bombed into the stone age. They aren't stupid. They just want to become a major "player" on the world stage. A few nukes would give them a louder voice in world politics.

They all ready have a whole butt load of oil which gives them some clout, but that doesn't give them the posture that a few nukes would.

It's all about posturing. Nobody in their right mind would actually launch at Europe or Israel unless they are suicidal. Although, a nuclear war would give humanity a second chance if we survive. We sure have made a mess of things as it stands....
