McCain's Private Visit With Chilean Dictator Pinochet Revealed For First Time

According to a declassified U.S. Embassy cable, McCain described the meeting with Pinochet "as friendly and at times warm"

John McCain, who has harshly criticized the idea of sitting down with dictators without pre-conditions, appears to have done just that. In 1985, McCain traveled to Chile for a friendly meeting with Chile's military ruler, General Augusto Pinochet, one of the world's most notorious violators of human rights credited with killing more than 3,000 civilians and jailing tens of thousands of others. The private meeting between McCain and dictator Pinochet has gone previously un-reported anywhere.

See, Republicans hanging out with dictators and being "in bed" with those that fund and support worldwide terrorism is A-OKAY, but a Democrat who went to a church led by a nutcase and had a once-in-awhile acquaintance with a two-bit, one-time, minor "home" "terrorist," and a few other "local" nobodies is something to be very, very, very, very scared and fearful of!!!!!

    Yes, excellent point.

Man, it is AMAZING what Karl Rove and his crew actually did -

Let me tell you a part of what I'm REALLY doing, here, and elsewhere in other forums.

"I", study human belief. I have a degree in it. A Piled-Higher-and-Deeper. It's actually in "comparative religion", but, that was the closest thing I could find to study what I really needed to know, and I found a good school with a good set of advisers and professors, to guide me through the self-designed curriculum, so, instead of the usual "details of denominations" involved in a comparative religion study, mine was more like, bits and pieces of philosophy, psychology, CULTURAL ANTHROPOLOGY, and so on.

One of the things I am MOST interested in right now, is HOW Karl Rove sold his bill of goods to the American Public.

Because, this "sale", was something very special. It wasn't the usual political thing of "spinning around the issues". It was something entirely different - they were selling a whole MODEL - a whole model ALL AT ONCE - not the usual thing about "his tax plan will leave you poorer than mine". Nah, their MODEL, was this "New World Order" thing, and everything that dropped out of it, and somehow they fabricated a whole WORLD-VIEW around that, that they thought would be useful not only in getting Bushie elected, but also in taking him through the eight years.

So, what they did, was actually either VERY BRILLIANTLY CLEVER, or, they got really lucky. I'm not sure which yet. I'm very interested to find out what exactly happened.

Here's how these things work, based on my current understanding: learning a new model, is kind of like bulding a "terrain map". What you do first, if you're a surveyor trying to map out some terrain, is you put a few "stakes in the ground", to identify the major landmarks, and then, you start taking "measurements" around that, and then, you start putting in some "little stakes" to supplement the big stakes, so your charts will end up being as accurate as possible.

So, the process of acquiring a new model, in human belief, is very much like that - if someone gives you enough "stakes in the ground", your brain will "fill in" the rest of the map. It will AUTOMATICALLY find the model, based on just seeing the "points of definition". And I mean, this is a well known phenomenon in psychology, it happens in hearing, in vision, even in smell and taste.

So, this MODEL they were trying to raise here, they've really been very nebulous about it, correct? They've never come right out and said: "this is the model". Nah - what they've done instead, is they've kept hammering on those STAKES. "Axis of evil" - "culture war" - "new world order" -

Well, dude.... if you're seein' those stakes in the ground, what kind of a political model is likely to form in your mind?

    See what I'm sayin'?

So yeah, I'm very happy to see people posting stuff like this. For every push-poll lie that's being foisted on us by one campaign or the other, we oughta be out here pushing the OPPOSITE lie right back into their faces. That seems to be the only way, to take the power out of the lie!

Karl Rove's secret is that he exploits the ignorance of Americans and the cooperative media. The media will only go so far. They wont touch anything that threatens the official narratative.
