Like witnessing a train wreck with one eye closed, and the other squinting, I'm watching the "Oracle of DC" present his latest in a long line of bullshit speeches during the State of the Union Address, and it really is a predictable puker. Teleprompted, of course, canned, blaming, deflective, equivalence seeking, convienient populist pap presented by a lost, desperate soul more concerned with maintaining leftist government control and agenda than getting our country on track.

But the hopelessly hopeful will breath it in, and accept it as truth with a modicum of prescience the same way they did during his campaign.

I'm sorry, it's just sickening to think that some will fall for it once again.

(love the lukewarm applause...this dude is toast!)

thank you for that unbiased and oh so objective review of his speech. I'm sure you'll provide the same sort of review for the Republican response.
As a Democrat, I take solace in the fact that the Republicans have nominated the guy who lost the nomination to the guy who lost the presidency to the guy who is now the President.

Pretty good speech. A little too much fluff for my taste, but he was effective when talking about policy. He's restored a some of my hope for his presidency.

Actually, I've decided to bow out of political discussions...sorta pointless, I've discovered.

Jeez, I don't know what I was thinking. Way back, when I was a dirt road, drug addicted, bar hopping idiot, my mother used to complain that "those people you hang out with live in a warped sense of reality". I think maybe I've merely found a similar, and equally destructive environment.

    Cheers, sweetheart.

LOL. Dropped in to drop a partisan rant, then you are done with political debate. That's nice, next time you decide to leave just do it. We don't need your announcements or your lifestory. Ciao!

Actually, I've been here a minute, and on this earth long enough to have a successful life, a successful business, and I'm in the process of starting another.... and you know, I really don't need the advice or consent of an arrogant 20 something that thinks he has life all figured out.

    Good luck with that, however.

    Ciao, indeed.

I am at work, didn't see the speech. But, in the past I am usually left with a good feeling and a reminder of how good our government COULD be if they would actually follow through. I am sure it would have been the same tonight.

What is left when all hope is gone? I mean you don't think the right could do any better do you? So isn't it prudent to at least be able to see the good and the possibilities if we followed through? I mean the picture doesn't have to be all bleak.
