Would Kay Baily Hutchison have been a smarter choice?

Kay Bailey Hutchison - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If John McCain had it to do over again, do you think Kay Bailey Hutchison would be a better VP Pick than Sarah Palin?

Great question. Hutchinson might have snagged some Hillaristas...like Ausinus...heh-heh.

More than Palin anyway but I don't think a significant number of Hillary voters were going to ever end up voting for McCain.

I originally thought Palin was an excellent pick. I was giving her the benefit of the doubt and overestimated her ability to handle unscripted situations.

I have seen enough of Kay Bailey to know that she would not have had any problem doing interviews.

Also, I think she seems a little more preisidential in demeanor and would have lessened the concern about McCains and melenoma history.

Maybe the reason they didn't pick her is because she is from the same state as Bush and they wanted to distance from that.

    She flatout was not interested.

Didn't she close down some really good bars and music venues in Austin as a comptroller? I remember a bunch of people being mad about that in the late 90s.

Hutchison is a leftist hack who would have killed any support from the Republican base McCain might have had left.

Dunno I saw the abortion thing, but that wasn't a deal breaker in her being a republican on most stances.

KBH is a very shrewd politician. She dogded this bullet.

Anyone who is smart would have been a smarter choice. I might still respect McCain, too.

    Should have a sub-poll:

    Anyone believer KBH is smart?

    I'd have to vote no.
