Letter from Sarah Palin (in the mail)

Did anyone else get a letter in the mail last week from Sarah Palin? I did.

It just said Sarah Palin in the upper left and had a stamp that said 'nonprofit org.' (yeah fuckin' right!) in the upper right.

    It says:

    Dear Friend,

Since I joined John McCain as his running mate in this historic campaign, we have been criss-crossing the country, bringing our message of reform and renewal to the American people.

We Americans believe in our country. We celebrate its past and look forward to its bright future.

From small towns to big cities across America, I see people full of spirit, courage and strength, who ask only for the opportunity to work hard, raise their families and live their lives as they see fit.

We Republicans reject the Democrats' fearful and pessimistic mentality. When we are able to get our message past the liberal mainstream media filter - directly to the voters - the vast majority of the American people agree with our confident, optimistic view of principled, conservative government and opportunity for all.

But the Obama-Biden Democrats and their allies are set to raise over $1 billion to relentlessly flood America's airwaves with their negative and false attacks against our Republican candidates.

That's why I'm asking for your support today. Please help me provide the resources we need to battle back against the Democrats and their same old tired-and-failed policies of the past.

Help us fight for a better future for all Americans by joining the Repuvlican National Committee with a 2008 campaign contribution of $2,000. $1,000, $500, $100, $50 or $35.

We want to lead an American government which gets behind its people, not in their way. And I am proud to join all Republican candidates in this historic event.

Republican candidates running for office across America share a vision for reform, prosperity and peace, and we will do everything we can between now and Election Day to communicate that vision to voters throughout this country.

Working together we will work tirelessly to bring refor to politics-as-usual, fight corruption and waster, and make certain that government serves the people, not the special interests. We will put our nation on a course to energy independence and ensure that our economy offers opportunity to all of our citizens.

We will make the tough decisions that will keep America strong as we face threats to our security from radical Islamic extremism, nuclear proliferation and tyrannical regimes.

But to do this, we must stop the Obama-Biden Democrats from taking total control of our government. We must have the resources to maintain control of the White House and win elections across the country.

The last weeks of the campaign are the most critical. It is now when television ads will have the biggest impact, and when volunteers will be making the phone calls, walking the neighborhoods, registering new voters, and organizing the all-important Get-Out-The-Vote efforts that are essential to our success.

There is energy and enthusiasm growing behind our campaigns. Our Party is gaining momentum, and the exuberance of the people who come out to meet with us is unmistakable.

I am thrilled and honored to have had the opportunity to be part of this historic election -- and now I am asking you to join with me and all of our candidates as we fight for victory on November 4th.

Please let me hear from you today.

    Sincerely,

    Sarah Palin

P.S. As we enter the home stretch of our campaign, we must cut through the false claims and fearful rhethoric of the Obama-Biden Democrats. Please help us make sure we have the resources we need to get our commonsense, confident message out to the American people by joining the Republican National Committee with a contribution of $2,000, $1,000, $500, $100, $50 or $35 today. Thank you.

Typical Rovian politics; campaign against what you actually stand for. McCain is a huge lobbyist and special interest sell out, so they campaign like they are against it.

The lies and double cross never cease, and Palin is a worthless bitch.

Gee, thanks Sarah. I didn't even know I wrote that letter!

And yes, in the third to last paragraph from the bottom, the letter does not capitalize the word Republican (in front of National Committee) (Oops!)

*And what happened to the $2,000 and the $35 she asked for in her letter? Instead she adds $250 and $25 AND $_____Other!!

I think I'll send her and McCain and the Republican National Committee all my bills and ask them to explain to me how in the hell I'm suppose to make a generous contribution when I owe so frickin' much!!!!!!! And, bitch, you guys pay my bills that occurred under that tyrannical regime (Read, of course, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, et al)you want to protect me from!!!!

I've found more and more that the easiest way to tell when someone is trying to BS you, is that they don't answer the question 'how'. IF they can't answer the question how, even if they have a reason why they believe what they believe, then in my eyes they're pretty reckless individuals (IE, just how exactly are they for peace and prosperity?)

In addition, if they don't answer the question why, then they are trying to slip one past us and disguise their intentions. (Well, an abortion clinic bomber is not a terrorist....but william ayers was). If you think about the question why when you try to analyze speeches and whatnot, you'll be able to see pretty much what sort of group that the politician is trying to play to.

I read that letter, and I see essentially platitude after platitude. Nothing that answers the how question, and nothing that answers the why question. If they want me to donate money, then they'll actually needed to answer those questions for me.

I couldn't agree more. Both parties are guilty of this, and the only real solutions to our problems were by candidates that weren't considered prime. Give me Dennis or Ron over these bums any day.
