    'landslide like reagan'

    LANDSLIDE LIKE REAGAN

Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby Poll: And Then It Was Ten . . .

    Obama 51.6%, McCain 42.0%

UTICA, New York – Democrat Barack Obama moved very close to a double–digit lead over Republican John McCain in the national horserace for President, continuing his slow push forward above the 50% mark, gaining 1.3 points in the last day.
McCain is slowly losing ground, having lost another 0.4 points in this latest report on the Reuters/C–SPAN/Zogby daily tracking poll.

Pollster John Zogby: “Three big days for Obama. Anything can happen, but time is running short for McCain. These numbers, if they hold, are blowout numbers. They fit the 1980 model with Reagan's victory over Carter -- but they are happening 12 days before Reagan blasted ahead. If Obama wins like this we can be talking not only victory but realignment: he leads by 27 points among Independents, 27 points among those who have already voted, 16 among newly registered voters, 31 among Hispanics, 93%-2% among African Americans, 16 among women, 27 among those 18-29, 5 among 30-49 year olds, 8 among 50-64s, 4 among those over 65, 25 among Moderates, and 12 among Catholics (which is better than Bill Clinton's 10-point victory among Catholics in 1996). He leads with men by 2 points, and is down among whites by only 6 points, down 2 in armed forces households, 3 among investors, and is tied among NASCAR fans.”

Tied among NASCAR fans? You mean half of NASCAR's fans understand what apologists don't? How do apologists NOT feel shame?

I may be a pessimist... but something will happen. Obama will win, but it will be much closer then everyone thinks.

I was looking at an ellectoral map and it does seem like the Obama can win even if he will lose the states where he has at least a 7 point lead right now he will still win. Except that he would still need Virginia.

If I could make a guess about which state will decide the ellection (If it becomes close) then I would have to put my money on Virginia.

But that is just from me looking at an ellectoral map and crunching numbers, so idk.

Hey D., I got smart and I'm backing the best candidate. You, on the other hand, are backing an east Texas goat roper who's spent the last 20+ years warming a chair in Congress doing nothing while someone else writes his books for him. You're backing a loser.

    "Landslide like Reagan"....

    ...hmmmm...

...According to Gallup, Reagan was behind by 10 points in the polls the week before the face off with Carter. So when you're saying "landslide like Reagan" you mean McCain kicks the pretender's ass and has huge coattails, as well.

No, I see this race as being so tight that Obama's concerted efforts to promote voter fraud in key states could push him over the top.

Initially I didn't really side with either of them, but I will admit I was more uncertain of Obama than I was of McCain.

I cheered for McCain during the GOP primaries due to the laughable nature of the opposition (lmao Paul) and under the assumption that he would run a respectable campaign similar to his effort in 2000. Unfortunately he has not and has nearly become a laughing stock in independent circles, betraying many of his own principals and placing himself at the whims of partisan campaign advisors all in some quasi-bucket list do anything do get to the presidency before I die schtick. The Palin pick in particular was the final nail in the coffin of my uncertainty and the McCain campaign.

Obama has undoubtedly run a much better campaign and is clearly the better candidate. He's led the agenda, kept consistent and impressed. Its looking like the majority of America is behind him. I'm backing him at this point, however with a slightly muted degree of enthusiasm.

i actually heard obama is hiring snipers to pick off people about to vote for mccain one by one. its what hes going to use the majority of that $150 million for.

and as we've seen, its silly to look at one poll. but taken collectively, obama is sharing the same lead bush did going into the 2004 election.

It won't be that big of a landslide, even though it seems pretty clear Obama is gonna win.

Carter was running for re-election at a time where we were a year into the Iranian hostage crisis and Reagan blew him out of the water only after the failed Operation:Eagle Claw.

At that time, foreign policy was the main issue, and we all know that if that hostage crisis continued Reagan would have blown the whole country into oblivion. Point is, that crisis dominated the news and that was Reagan's strong suit. We have an economic crisis right now, and that's Obama's strong suit. The only reason there won't be a BLOW OUT is because John McCain isn't running for re-election.
