US warning on Iraq deal failure

US warning on Iraq deal failure

So we have a non agreement here. You see the Iraqi's want us out, they want to control their security, oil, and country. They have a real problem with the permanent bases, the embassy, and the illegal occupation.

So Gates has a solution, it is basic and expected, it goes like this....

Sit the fuck down, shut your god damn mouth, and take it, or we'll kill you!

Did you catch this part - "A new UN resolution would be needed...."

Since WHEN does Bushie care about UN resolutions???

Remember the "coalition of the willing"?

What a schmuck that Bushie is - you know - coalition of the willing.... what? thieves? murderers? con artists? anyone who's brain dead enough to be sold a bill of goods?

Man, what a WEASEL that guy is!

    Typical Neo-Con scare-mongering - "dire consequences".

These clowns just let themselves get right up against a brick wall, and then they panic when it crumbles. Boy....

    :cryandrun:

The reasons the US is commited to occupying Iraq for the indefinite future were explained by the editors at the Washington Post when they were critisizing Obama for saying Afghanistan as "the central front" for the US.

"While the United States has an interest in preventing the resurgence of the Afghan Taliban, the country's strategic importance pales beside that of Iraq, which lies at the geopolitical center of the Middle East and contains some of the world's largest oil reserves."

Mr. Obama in Iraq - washingtonpost.com

US power centers are doing whatever they can to control Iraq. The Declaration of Principles released by the White House permits US forces to remain indefinitely in Iraq. The Declaration also commits Iraq to "facilitate and encourage the flow of foreign investments to Iraq, especially American investments".

In a signing statement, Bush declared that he will ignore legislation that forbids the establishment of “any military installation or base for the purpose of providing for the permanent stationing of United States Armed Forces in Iraq,” and will also ignore any legislation that forbids White House actions “to exercise United States control of the oil resources of Iraq.”

The Pentagon is continuing to build huge military bases around the country, all funded by the Democrat controlled Congress. These massive constructions are not being built to be abandoned or destroyed.

Unfortunetley for Americans, US troops and Iraqis, the US elections wont reverse this strategy. Obama intends to keep atleast 40,000 non combat troops in Iraq (non combat means they'll be at military bases instead of fighting Iraqis on the streets) and if the Iraqi parliament doesnt sign on to the SOFA, the US will overule it which will probobly reignite a Shia uprising, this time with Sistani's open support.

Then the US will either have to lose Iraq or level the country like they did Fallujah. The US can always just bomb Iraqis into submission and I think they might be able to get away with it becouse the corporate media will report it like they did Fallujah.

Washington's plans in Iraq are clear: Iraq should remain a client state, allowing permanent US military bases to ensure Western (primarily US) investors priority in accessing its oil resources.

None of this should surprise observers who are not blinded by doctrine.

"Of course it's about oil, we can't really deny that. We've treated the Arab world as a collection of big gas stations. Our message to them is: Guys, keep your pumps open, prices low, be nice to the Israelis and you can do whatever you want out back.

The U.S. would need to keep a long-term military presence in Iraq in order to protect the free flow of goods and resources."

U.S.Will Determine When Troops Have Immunity : Information Clearing House - ICH

    By Fox News

The most controversial article in the draft agreement is on troop immunity. While the U.S. gives up immunity for U.S. troops who are "off duty and off base" if they commit major or intentional crimes, the U.S. retains the authority to determine whether they were off duty.

I think that I may favor troop immunity, but at the cost Bush's&Co head on a silver patter.

Gates has said no such thing. Indeed, he seems to be saying just the opposite. No agreement, we suspend operations.

    From your article:

He said if there were no Status of Forces Agreement the US would have to "basically stop doing anything".
