    Proposition 8

Do you think it will pass or not pass?

It will probably pass by a small margin and remain legal. If Massacheusetts and Connecticut can legalise it why not California?

If it passes, it becomes illegal. It creates an amendment that states marriage is between a man and a woman.

I hope it will not pass. Gays can have some other arrangment for the relationships, as long as they do not call it marriage.

    Only one thing is certain.

If Proposition 8 passes, John McCain will be president.

All those bigoted Republicans coming out to vote to suppress a civil liberty ain't going to be voting for the black guy.

Which means McCain gets a surprise 55 electoral votes, Obama loses them, and loses the election.

    Ain't gonna happen.

Seperate but equal doesnt work, this is established already. Here's an idea; get rid of marriage and replace it with union. After all, marriage is a religious institution and you know what state policy on separation of church and state is.

I have no idea so I should not vote. I would not be surprized if gay marriage remained legal in CA. Bunch of liberals.

I do think it is an issue that must be solved at the federal level. What the hell happens if two gays marry in CA and them move to Kansas? Are they still married? They file as married on their federal tax return and then single on their state return? If they remain married in Kansas then gay couples could just go to CA to get married, like many have done in Vegas. States can't very well say if you were not married in our state then we don't recognize it.

I'm glad you hope it will not pass, seriously. However, I find it disturbing that the term "marriage" has to be exclusive to heterosexuals. It is not a proper noun. Homosexuals use the same water coolers as the heteros.
