Hmmm? No that doesn't work and is illogical because a conservative would not want a 1 on a scale from 1 to 10 with 1 being most Liberal. It is additionally illogical since Obama is still not closer to a 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 or 10. The whole paragraph becomes illogical.

Let's switch the scale around too since you may have meant that as well.

Nope that doesn't work either since it would be false to say that McCain or Obama would represent a 10 equally well nor would it be true that Obama would be closer to a 7,6,5,4,3,2,1.

No matter how you mix the words around a anyone who is less liberal than Obama will never be served better by Obama than they would by McCain.

this is a perfect example of why labels like "liberal" and "conservative" don't mean jack shit. where you stand on specific issues are what matters, and where people stand on most major issues would put nearly everyone somewhere in the middle.

That is exactly right. Almost everyone falls somewhere in the middle. Even Senator McCain falls somewhere in the middle. But not Senator Obama. He lands squarely at a 1.

not at all. many liberals don't want us to drill for oil, obama would. many liberals don't want nuclear power, obama would develope it. many liberals don't want us to engage in any more warfare, obama would. many liberals think we should have open borders, obama wants secure borders. many liberals don't want faith based government funding, obama is for it.
