Wow. 6 in 10 say McCain being unfair in attacks

That's amazing. From the nation that brought us Swiftboating. Still, a very positive and encouraging sign!

Thank you Americans. I'm proud to be one, again.

What most people recognize is that he's not the guy he used to be. I think a lot of people who voted for him in the primaries are probably really disappointed.

My opinion of him has certainly changed.

Yes, the Republican party should consider replacing that destined loser ASAP.

I see that tonight's CBS/NYT poll shows McCain down 14%. I'm not certain of accuracy of the poll but is certainly is a welcome indicator. McCain can blame himself for his smear tactics helping him lose this race.

They would just replace him with another candidate that will baselessly try to assassinate the character of the candidate that threatens them the most.

Rovian strategy has ironically been a large part of the Republican party's undoing, and has largely been a miserable failure.

Indeed, the "go negative early and often" (a direct Rove quote) seems to finally be wearing thin with the American public. I'm just wondering when they will say "screw it we're going to lose anyway" and unleash an unscripted Palin.

i actually would be one of the 40%. i don't think they're unfair at all. i think they're stupid and costing mccain the election, but i don't find them unfair.

if anything, i welcome them. like i said, they're costing mccain the election.

The media has successfully massaged the Obama brand to make it relatively impervious to attack. Perhaps the Teflon President will make a return.

    Attacking Palin isn't sexism.

Having 90% of the comedians make fun of the Republicans isn't unfair.

Having the Biden gaffes and outright insanity fade from the airwaves with barely a mention while we get weeks of parodies of Palin based on pauses and a dodge.... yeah that's fair....

I'm actually surprised the number isn't higher.
