    The Distraction Has Worked

Over the past few months, I had thought that PH was a place where ideas mostly dominated. Sure there was a fair amount of personal attacks and mainstream media, hyped-up character assassination. But for the most part, people took the battle to where it belonged, the ideas. Take a look at the first page of this forum today. Half a dozen Obama/Ayers threads. A few others slamming the Republican ticket on equally trivial grounds. And all this is exactly what they (politicians) want to happen. As long as you're focused on these issues, they don't have to have any real ideas and certainly don't have to make any promises. And don't expect any help from the media. They only care about ratings, so they'll keep focusing on these trivial matters that attract the masses. Don't be a sheep.

Your correct for the most part, but there is a factor that you left out. By arguing for these punks it gives them legitimacy.

On edit, it also gives the fake two party system legitimacy.

Yup Nerv. Once Obama is elected there'll be a few days of pissing and moaning by the Paultards and McCain supporters then it'll get really quiet.

I have noticed that when it isn't an ellection season people seem more likely to disagree with their party, but idk. I hope.

I do not know about that, the folks who voted Joe/Jane Whomever in seem to make excuses for that person. I think they are trying to make excuses for their vote. Then on the other side of the coin, you have the "I told you so" even when they might be wrong, again to excuse their vote. Usually those votes are based on party lines, and I think that is because they have so much invested in their party, some philosophical some financial. It is a bad way of doing things that help the country. Of course this is just my opinion, but I am sticking to it!
