What Obama will not tell you, what Nancy Pelosi probably doesn’t even understand, is that not every oil well is cost-efficient to drill. Forcing companies to drill in expensive areas will increase costs for consumers, raising the price of gas at the pump. Furthermore, it establishes a frightening precedent of Government influence over the private sector, echoing Obama’s Health Care policies which threaten to penalize Americans who do not participate in Obama-supported federal programs.
If this is the best the Democrats have to offer and if Obama’s energy and health care polcies are indicative of his political philosophy, then the American people will be facing serious peril. It does not appear that Americans are worried about substance. They’ve become superstitious and easily preyed upon by special interests and Big Media Corporations. If the Democrats succeed in using the Federal Government to bully American citizens and American Companies, the result will be a powerless citzenry with fewer and fewer companies to work for. Indeed, companies will look for better prospects elsewhere. Citizens will look for liberty elsewhere. Senator Obama is wrong on energy, wrong on health care, and wrong on national defense. The question is, what is he right on? Anything? Have any of his policies worked for the American People?
