Obama Threatens to Increase Energy Costs; Health Care Costs

The courageous and far-sighted energy plan of Democrats, originally established by Nick Rahall and pushed by Nancy Pelosi, known as the “Use It or Lose It” policy, was given further support by Senator Barack Obama in last nights Presidential Debate. Obama argues that if Oil Companies don’t use all the land currently leased that the government will void their contracts. What Obama will not tell you, what Nancy Pelosi probably doesn’t even understand, is that not every oil well is cost-efficient to drill. Forcing companies to drill in expensive areas will increase costs for consumers, raising the price of gas at the pump. Furthermore, it establishes a frightening precedent of Government influence over the private sector, echoing Obama’s Health Care policies which threaten to penalize Americans who do not participate in Obama-supported federal programs.

If this is the best the Democrats have to offer and if Obama’s energy and health care polcies are indicative of his political philosophy, then the American people will be facing serious peril. It does not appear that Americans are worried about substance. They’ve become superstitious and easily preyed upon by special interests and Big Media Corporations. If the Democrats succeed in using the Federal Government to bully American citizens and American Companies, the result will be a powerless citzenry with fewer and fewer companies to work for. Indeed, companies will look for better prospects elsewhere. Citizens will look for liberty elsewhere. Senator Obama is wrong on energy, wrong on health care, and wrong on national defense. The question is, what is he right on? Anything? Have any of his policies worked for the American People?

except "use it or lose it" is not obama's "energy policy". its not even close to being his entire energy policy.

they very basic foundations of your entire argument aren't even correct.

That is usually the case with his drivel. He obviously has no comprehension whatsoever concerning the issue of drilling.

In comparison, why is McCain's health care plan better than Obama's? Please be specific and post links to your sources.

Indeed, but the sycophantic hordes of liberal Democrats will continue backing this guy, because whether out of their own hatred or envy, they want to punish the rich. They don't care if it destroys the economy, because all they want to do is to hurt Republicans. This is partially President Bush's fault too.

Why do you put in there that Obama is wrong on national defence? If anything, that is where he is right on.

i'm still waiting for an explanation as to how "use it or lose it" is obama's "energy policy".

Surrendering is never a good defense plan.

Reminds me of the scene in "Dodgeball" where Average Joe's has to forfeit, and the commentator says "interesting strategy, let's see where it takes them".

Obie is clearly wrong in national defense.

He's also clearly wrong on drilling, as that should be the first and most urgent program of energy renewal and independence.

He's wrong on health care. It's not a "right". "Rights" are free, not paid for by someone else.

He's wrong on taxes. ZERO increases in taxes are a necessity on the brink of a real depression. Cuts in taxes are even better.

He's going to spend his 800 billion dollars worth of NEW spending (that means unnecessary) if he gets elected, regardless of what's come to light in the last month. That makes him wrong on the economy.

I am libertarian for most spending at the federal level. I agree that his spending is bad. Economcially, his only real advantage over McCain is that McCain will have a much larger defecit then Obama.

Also, Obama's healthcare plan may be better in the longrun. But you are right that we can't afford more spending right now.

Obama's "use it or lose it" plan is pretty stupid though, and it is also a siezure of private property which should never be used unless there is a monopoly. (which Obama can argue if he wants his policy) However, his alternative energy funding research is a very good idea though.
McCain may also have some of that, but I don't believe it is as much.

However, that is not what my post was about.

Obama is going to stay in Iraq for a year with full troop levels and then leave a force behind. He is also going to fight terrorists in Afganistan.

That isn't surrender it is just being practical because we can't stay in Iraq more 4 more years if that is what it takes to competely win.
