That has got to be one of the more hilarious lines to come out of the media during this election cycle. Ranks right up there with the editor of the National Review writing this about Sarah Palin:
"I'm sure I'm not the only male in America who, when Palin dropped her first wink, sat up a little straighter on the couch and said, "Hey, I think she just winked at me." And her smile. By the end, when she clearly knew she was doing well, it was so sparkling it was almost mesmerizing. It sent little starbursts through the screen and ricocheting around the living rooms of America."
I think both are fine if they are simply performing the function of editorializers. What bothers me about Mathews is that his network is dancing back and forth with the lines between editorial and reporter. A politlcal pundit can say what ever he wishes. A repoter is supposed to remain objective as part of his duty. Mathews was put in the position of covering the convention. I do not like how they are playing fast and lose with reporting on that network. They are not doing their job as news providers.
Hey I think Keith Oberman is a dick. But it is a political commentary show. He can say and act as he wishes. But if they make Him also a reporter then the network is doing something wrong. The News is something that is mandated by the government. It is supposed to be kept distinct from ohter shows.
