All the excuses for Palin are in place

First, the excuse that public speaking, and specifically debating skills, are not important qualifications for a VP nominee is there if she chokes.

Second, Almost every McCain supporting pundit today is saying "Her handlers need to let her be Sarah Palin instead of training her". This is the important one if she does well. Because not only does it render the need for debate camp, and all that book learnin' needless, but it implies that she never needed it. That's pretty damn crafty.

So if she wins or does okay...all mistakes of the past were not her fault!

    If she fails...debating isn't important.

Those Republican strategists don't get paid the big bucks for nothing.

The woman is a master of senseless babble. I can't believe that Alaska elected her their governor despite the fact that she can't speak in coherent, complete sentences and address the issue at hand. I'm starting to understand why her baby has Down's.

Harpo Marx has a better chance of winning the debate. And he's speechless and dead.

Palin's going to be the downfall of the McCain campaign.

The real thing here is that Palin has been set up to fail. The press has so poluted her reputation and has unfairly questioned her, their assalt on her is unpresidented. If she goes in to the debate with abiden cool calm and collected she will do OK. If she gets wrapped up in semantics and claifications that are outside of the original question she will not do well.

I can see Rove's finger prints here, hey wait I think Palin's husband said the same thing whilst looking at her sagging muffin.

From what I have seen in her very brief appearances on TV, she is not very good at answering the questions presented to her. This is not the debate for a podunk state. She is going to be live on national TV. I honestly don't think she has a chance.

Palin walked into the role of scapegoat willingly. The GOP is presenting a semi-controversial VP as an alternative to voting for a weak Presidential candidate. The fact that she is almost as charismatically inept as McCain does not bode well for her. She will be an excuse for McCain losing the election while simultaneously giving McCain cause to crow about his courage for naming her his running mate. Of course, she will be hard pressed to appear as uncomfortable or full of enmity as McCain while debating. I suppose if the topics include caribou hunting strategies she will not be found wanting.

You know exactly what I meant Tick.

Glib talk won't change the fact that Palin will fail miserably in the debate and it will cost McCain the presidency.
