Nah - this story, goes kinda like this: Dick Cheney, goes hat in hand to the Arab oil sheiks, and says, "please sir, would you please pump a little more oil and lower your prices?"
That "please" there - why do you think he did that? What would make the Vice President of the United States, the most reclusive figure in recent political history, get up and leave his desk and fly halfway around the world, to make such a request?
Well... it must have been pretty important, right?
I mean, this is the very same guy, who constructed the energy policy of the entire United States. And, we already KNOW he's got oil on his mind from day one, 'cause... hm.... look - there's all those oil execs in his office, right there in the dead of night...
Hm... yeah, you know, well, this is kind of a long story, so maybe I'll just finish this some other time. Kinda what happens here, is I get to tie these two concepts together: this guy al-Makki, and this idea that the Arab oil sheiks have some kinda "leverage" on us beyond just the "surface" appearance of oil dependency.
It's NOT a 9/11 conspiracy theory. On the other hand, it COULD easily be - I mean, you know, I've seen others leap to those kinds of conclusions, but really, the piece here, is a lot easier to understand.
MONEY, that's what it's all about.
But I mean, this is serious stuff we're talking about. This is like, VAST sums of money. Enough to keep a nation running, for say, three months, six months, something like that..... hm.....
So yeah, I'm tired too. I'll just bump into this thread from time to time, as time permits. There's kinda more pressing things to address right now, know what I mean? But I'm sure there's some interesting tidbits in here for the wandering mind, all that....
