Bunning equates federal reserve to Chavez

Well, at least some people are acting. If any of this will make a difference is another thing.

Key Republicans on Capitol Hill blasted the Treasury Department and the Federal Reserve on Wednesday for orchestrating an $85 billion bailout of insurance giant American International Group, and the White House for not informing them of the plan.

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning blasted the Federal Reserve for bailing out insurance and finance giant American International Group and introduced legislation Wednesday that would strip the agency of its power to use taxpayer money in future bailouts.

“The greed on Wall Street is only exceeded by the stupidity of the Treasury secretary and the chairman of the Federal Reserve,” Bunning said in a statement that also equated the Federal Reserve with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

I absolutely detest Jim Bunning's legislation and methodology. He's from my home state.

However, I agree with Bunning 100% on this issue. The very fact that our Federal government is nationalizing the industry should be a wake up call to those who cherish free markets, and liberty for that matter. Actually, more than a wake up call- it should be more terrifying than terrorism. Unfortunately, Americans are snoozing over another raping of US taxpayers by the federal government.

You want to know something even more amazing? Paulson was unanimously confirmed by the Senate. You know, the same Senate that Bunning was a member of during the confirmation. Maybe he should have thought that vote through before he cast it.

Hmm, unanimously confirmed by the Senate? Where was Senator Obama's "change" in supporting a Bushite neocon and former CEO of Goldman Sachs?

Really? Is Obama the one currently out there calling this guy "stupid"? the answer is no D. I am sure that you would love to see that, but unfortunately it appears that Obama is smarter than that.

How exactly does that answer my question? Why would a "change"-er go along with the fourth Goldman Sachs CEO in a row as Treasury Secretary without a peep of protest?
