I needed something to laugh at, well here it is. I guess Al Gore has nothing on McCain, they both have delusions of grandeur.

Except Al Gore actually did help to create it as we know it - by introducing key pieces of legislation that proliferated the internet.
You really should be more informed. That apophenia must be interfering with your eyesight![]()
No Big Al Bore invented it, look it says so right here on my computer....

And like the staffer joked... McCain's influence in legislation help develop the capabilities of the blackberry. No difference... only Gore claimed to have invented the internet which he did not... the internet had been around for decades. He might have had something to do with the creation of the World Wide Web, which is not the same thing as the internet.
But that's okay... I wouldn't expect someone like you to be that informed.

Actually, if he WAS joking, he must have been joking when later in the article, he said this:
Why is that so funny? Because John McCain's senior economic advisor is former Senator Phil Gramm. The father of most of the deregulation of the financial industry that is at the heart of the current meltdown on Wall Street. The Arizona senator's handling of regulation and deregulation of that industry in particular left him with the skills to help revive the economy amid a mortgage crisis, an energy crisis and a Wall Street meltdown, the adviser said.
"He can and has the judgment to put people in place with technical expertise, with the history of experience in the areas necessary, that we're going to get reforms," Holtz-Eakin said. Adviser says McCain helped create the BlackBerry - Yahoo! News
Nothing like putting the fox in charge of the hen house.Who's to blame for the biggest financial catastrophe of our time? There are plenty of culprits, but one candidate for lead perp is former Sen. Phil Gramm. Eight years ago, as part of a decades-long anti-regulatory crusade, Gramm pulled a sly legislative maneuver that greased the way to the multibillion-dollar subprime meltdown. Yet has Gramm been banished from the corridors of power? Reviled as the villain who bankrupted Middle America? Hardly. Now a well-paid executive at a Swiss bank, Gramm cochairs Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign and advises the Republican candidate on economic matters. He's been mentioned as a possible Treasury secretary should McCain win. That's right: A guy who helped screw up the global financial system could end up in charge of US economic policy. Talk about a market failure. Foreclosure Phil
