    Keep waving that flag, NMRM.

They won't ignore the circumstances, or the facts around it, they won't ignore the abusive Trooper, and the fact that director ignored their request for action, they will look at it like any reasonable person would.

Reasonable people don't abuse their authority. But since when did that matter to lockstep party loyalists?

I don't think anything illegal happen here. The director was not fired, he was reassigned and then resigned.

No, he was fired. You're lying, NMRM. Here is Palin talking about her reasons for firing him, less than a month after praising him:

YouTube - KTVA, Local CBS Affiliate, Reports On Palin Trooper-Gate Sca

    Also,

But Palin said her decision to fire Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan last month had nothing to do with his refusal to dump trooper Mike Wooten.
Palin staff pushed to have trooper fired: Walt Monegan firing | adn.com

I wonder why you have to lie about it.

If she felt he wasn't doing the job correctly she had every right as governor to do that. The trooper didn't get fired. All this is is another witch hunt that was started by the guy she beat in the last election. And of course the dems are more then happy to carry the fire forward. I'm not worried about it.

If she abused her office, she had no right to do that. But you support criminal behavior, so that explains it.

On July 11, 2008, Palin dismissed Monegan, offering him a position as executive director of the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, which he turned down.

He was offered another position... reassigned, he turned it down... she fired him. He didn't resign... but what she did was completely appropriate. She didn't feel he was doing his job correctly in the department of public safety... she offered him another position... he refused... only other recourse was to let him go. I have no problem with that.

The Trooper was not fired... he is still a state trooper in Alaska. Confirm your information.

If this is the best you "independents" can come up with then I have no worries. And I think "real" America will see it the same way.

If she did nothing wrong I find it unusual that a formal investigation was initiated and stranger still that she's refusing to cooperate with investigators.

Very troubling behavior for a vice presidential candidate.

Oh please stop with the dramatics. lol

It's been politically motivated by her opponent. The state has to do their investigation just because of how close she is to the circumstance. The committee is doing their jobs through the investigation.

Look she had a beef with this State Trooper... I don't blame her. He's abusive... and has threaten her family. I don't care if she did remove this director because he refused to do anything about it. She offered him another position because she felt, as governor, he couldn't do his job in that department. He wouldn't take the other job, so he was fired... there is nothing illegal about it. It happens everyday in real life people.

As for the attorney... do you think she shouldn't have a right to have an attorney... if you were being investigated would you want an attorney... don't make such ignorant argument Bourne... it's becoming a habit with you.

The dynamic of her position has changed. She is now a candidate for Vice President of the United States. She better have a lawyer glued to her waist for now on in this political climate. I'm sorry you people are so "troubled" by someone practicing their Constitutional Right. lol

It's not a lie blue... I was mistaken. The way I explained it was accurate... I thought he resigned because of the reassignment... she let him go because he refused the new, equal position. I still have no problem with it.

I guess on some level I wish I had your ability to have such blind faith in someone you don't personally know and have had no interaction with. It must be interesting to be like you and go through life without ever questioning anything as long as it comes from someone you support or agree with.

There may be absolutely nothing to this and she may be innocent of all abuse of power charges. I don't know her, I've never met her, I've had no past relationship with her of any kind so I can't vouch for what type of person she is. In the end I hope the charges aren't true, but I'm glad it is at least being investigated.

Considering the circumstances behind the investigation... I have no problem with what she did.. even if she fired him for that reason. She was trying to protect her family from an abusive state trooper. There's some dignity behind that... and from what I see she tried do her best to stay within proper procedure and protocol. She offered that man an equal position outside the department of public safety because she had first hand experience with his inability to do his job in that department.

And this situation alone will turn out to be reason why she should be Vice President of the United States.

And please don't lecture me about blind faith when your an Obama supporter.

No... that's not true.. but considering the FACTS of this situation... I don't have a problem with what she did.
