Thats not fair, I vote repub and dem, does that mean it's my fault if Obama wins?

You take a fairly safe position, as Obama's Campaign seems to be stalled.
So, after this election you're position is that there will be no Independents with a voting record?

Often, I think the annoyance that Blueneck addresses with her Maherian edict is, that George W. Bush supporters suddenly became, "independents," "libertarians," "constitutionalists" and "aloofniks" over the past 18 months. It's been one big hand-washing among REPUBLICANS since about 2005.

It's no harder if McCain gets elected, then it was when Bush was elected twice to just change parties to assuage your buyer's remorse and hide from criticism there. I have more respect for the Republicans who still step up for Bush still, the rest of you are fraidy cat flip floppers.

Unless of course we never voted for or supported the policies of Bush from the get go.

Politically, I've always considered myself an informed rational thinker, then a Conservative, then A Republican.

If the party changes it's philosophy, then I might no longer consider myself a Republican. This means that they have changed, not I.

I will vote for john McCain, who is only marginally a Republican, so I likely will be more inclined to refer to myself as a Conservative than as a Republican.

So when I vote for Mark Warner for Senate, does that make me a Democrat?
