The biggest factor in the price of gas is the national boundaries around the gas pumps - in other words the government controls the price the most.

This is why France pays really high amounts, the US pays moderate amounts, and Venezuala pays close to nothing.

Went down to Venezuela two times....for 25 days each. I rented a car and paid about $2.50 for a tank full of gas!! This was back in 2005 and 2006.

They are only making about 9% profit. The most that their profits could be raising the price is 9%.

And have you seen his package? After he caps total emmissions and makes every one pay for what they put out the price will be so high that no one will want to drill anyway.

Look at the graph above. You will see that the average for all industries in this economy is about 6.5%.

Do you know what we call companies that don't make positive profits? "Storefronts for rent".

Because so many companies go out of business and the owners take a huge risk just by opening the doors we need to reward their willingness to put it all on the line by letting them make any profit they can as long as they do it legally. If they have broken any laws by all means prosecute them.
